The World Health Organization recommends that this same level of safe and legal abortions be available to all women globally. (7) In the US, the risk of maternal death from abortion is 0.7 per 100,000 procedures,[6] making abortion about 13 times safer for women than childbirth (8.8 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births).[62][63] This is equivalent to the risk of death from driving about 1200 km (760 miles).[6] Some purported risks of abortion are promoted primarily by anti-abortion groups, but lack scientific support.[72]

Correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems like you want abortion to be legal because it saves lives. It could save the life of the mother, but what about the children? More 3,700 babies die each day from abortion. (1) Therefore, your argument there is invalid. More babies die from abortion than mothers who are saved from it. So, you say childbirth is more dangerous than abortion. Mothers who want a baby are aware of the risks, no i'm not very sure where your point there is. Do you think they would terminate their pregnancy just because having the child is more dangerous?

The definition of murder is "The killing of another person without justification or valid excuse." I would call abortion just that. Only about 2% of abortions in the UK are done because of a defect of the child.(2) The rest? Because the mother doesn't want the baby or didn't intend to get pregnant. Is that an excuse for ending one's life? Can we as adults kill others because we don't want them here?

I understand where you are coming from, but what if a woman is raped? Raped women or women with cancer may have deformed babies or it may risk their lives. Childbirth can kill both infant and woman, where abortion can prevent one death. Raped women had no control over getting pregnant. There are also some women who may not be able to give birth due to complications.

"Correct me if i'm wrong ..."
OK.

"what about the children?"
WRONG! Unborn human animal organisms are not the same thing as "children" or "babies". Does an ordinary child or baby have, as a major vital organ, an attached placenta? NO! The problem here is, the Language began using certain words regarding certain things before all the relevant Facts were known. It is only within the past few decades that DNA tests revealed that much of the placenta is PART of an overall unborn human animal organism. Language-use can eventually change in recognition of Facts, but it takes time....

"The definition of murder is "The killing of another person without justification or valid excuse." I would call abortion just that."
WRONG! For proof, start by answering this Question, after looking up just how close we are to practical "head transplants": If you suffered a decapitation accident, but rescuers arrive in time, do you want them to save your body, or save your head to save YOU-the-PERSON? Next, does an unborn human animal organism possess the "thing" that you would request saving? NOPE! (For proof, look up "mirror test" or "rouge test".) Therefore it is not a person!

Therefore abortion is completely OK.

Elective abortion is horrible. If it's done for the health of the mom it's still terrible but it's morally ok.
