I'll argue that abortions are actually killings. My opponent will argue that abortion is not killing.

Abortion is not murder. Only a person can be murdered. Until the fetus is viable outside of the womb, it is not considered a person yet. Sure, an embryo grows into a fetus and a fetus grows into becoming a potential living person on the outside, but until it can breathe outside on its own, it's not yet a person.

The majority of abortions take place during the first trimester, which means up until the 12th week. Up until the 8th week, the unborn is considered an embryo. An embryo is nothing more than a clump of cells which would be used to form parts of the baby, but it's not a baby yet. After the eighth week, the embryo is now considered a fetus. A fetus is in the development stage where all the organs begin to develop, but this takes a while. At the end of the first trimester, a fetus is only around 5 centimeters. It is impossible for the unborn to live outside of the womb at this stage. There's a reason it's called a fetus and not a baby.

It is ridiculous to assume that a fetus is a human being. How far back must someone go before it starts? What if an abortion is done and that fetus's children are never born. Neither are its own children or their children. Therefore this is considered genocide. Every egg which is released is a potential child as well therefore to not fertilize it would not also be considered mass genocide. Therefore not periods are a war crime. Obviously that is not the case. Therefore abortion cannot be murder. Children are not afforded the same rights or the same requirements as adults. Fetus's are completely dependent on their mother. They should not be afforded the same rights as even children.
Assuming abortion is murder is a presumptuous idea. Why do you choose to judge them. Raising a child of rape or accidental conception can cause disorders due to the effect this has on them. It is not your place to decide the better fate.

Murder is the unlawful killing of a person. If abortion is legal, regardless if the baby is a person or not, it's not considered murder.

No matter which way you put it you are ending a life when you do abortion. That makes you a murder no matter how you look at it.

I'm strongly against abortion, which you can see from my user image. Howedsver, I support sterilization for the betterment of human society. Abortion is just the wrong way. It's inhuman. It's barbaric. It damages women's body, which is just the opposite of what the abortion advocates and the radical feminists have told you. I think vasectomy or castration would be a better option, also a more effective one if it is for population control, because at the one time one man can knock up multiple women yet only can one woman carry one man's child.
