Women are given the freedom of choice, thus they choose if they would like to abort a child or not. Although the U.S Constitution says that no person shall be deprived of life, A fetus cannot survive on it's own, it is fully dependent on its mother, unlike born human beings.Even if a fetus was alive the "right to life" does not imply the right to use another persons body. People have the right to refuse to donate their organs, even if doing so would save someone else's life. Also, the "right to life" does not imply a right to live by threatening another persons life. Child birth is always a threat to the mother, she can die from child birth.

Abortions are one of the safest procedures done in medicine, when preformed by trained professionals of course. According to the NCBI "The risk of death by child birth is 14 times higher than that of abortion".
Humans are given the freedom of choice. Abortion is also legal, so women should be allowed to have an abortion if they would like.
If the child is born with a disability and will live a short, painful death, then the mother should be able to make the choice if they want to keep the child.

Women may have the right to chose wither to abort a child or not, but it is inhumane to do such a thing. Abortion promotes the idea that human life is disposable. The child that the women is trying to abort is a human and should be given the opportunity to live the life they were given. And even if she didn't want the child she should have still gave it up for adoption, I'm sure there are couple who want to adopt the child. Over all abortion is a in humane thing to do.

6 points to Con (Conduct, Arguments, Sources). Reasons for voting decision: Abortion is absolutely terrible

[*Reason for removal*] Not an RFD, just a statement of the voter's own views without any evaluation of the debate.

3 points to Pro (Arguments), 2 points to Con (Sources). Reasons for voting decision: I like how Pro states its position

[*Reason for removal*] Not an RFD, just a statement of the voter's appreciation of one side's phrasing. That does not explain arguments, nor does it explain why the other side is being awarded sources.

Reasons for voting decision: Tough to judge a 1 round debate, but I'll try. Con who was actually pro the resolution with pro being con, asserts that abortion promotes the ideal that human life is disposable, he also asserts abortion is inhumane. However pro pointsbout that letting a child be born is often inhumane if the kid is going to live a short torturous life. Con's argument that abortion promotes the ideal that human life is disposable is vounter acted by pro pointing out instances of the mother's life being in danger. If life is valuable certainly the mother should be able to choose her own. One argument by pro Ibfelt was conpelling and carried his case was the mention that nobody has a right to anpther person's body. He compared the situation to one in which organs arendonated and pointed out thatvin our society we do not force people to give organ transplants to save lives. This argument was pro's most compelling, it really should have been answered but it was droppped. Debate to the instigater.
