There are many reasons why abortion is necessary in today's society. So many girls are growing up so fast. They are doing drugs, drinking, and having sex starting in middle school. The statistics are constantly showing that the rate of teenage pregnancies is still rather high. Yes, it is immaturity on a young girl's part. However, that does not mean we should ultimately force her to have a child. If a young girl isn't ready to have a child, then why should she be not given the option of termination. To bring a child into this world into the hands of a child still growing themselves is just wrong. It slows down the progression of the young girl's life. She will struggle to find support for her child as she tries to continue to attend school. It is no easy life to be a mother at any age between 13 and 18 years old. It is very difficult. Many girls are forced to drop out of school because they can't afford a babysitter and their parents aren't going to up and quit their jobs just so that the baby will have a round-the-clock sitter. Having a child so young takes away from a girl's social life, education, and growth. They are made to grow up even faster then they already have been. I believe that people deserve a second chance to try and fix the mistakes they have made. Terminating a pregnancy, I feel, is one of those things. It is a decision that everyone should, personally, have the right to do. I do believe there should be a cap on the age a girl is allowed to receive an abortion, but I don't believe that there should be a ban against them. I believe that the age to receive an abortion should be 14 and above and I believe if a girl is under 17 they should have the consent of a parent to go through with the procedure. It is in a young girl's best interest to allow her mother to know what's going on with her. I don't believe it should just be a total secret. I think they have every right to know, especially because the procedure has it's risks like any other. The last thing anyone wants is a liability issue.

My case:

C1: a fetus is a human, abortion kills a human

Sub point a: a fetus is a human

Week 5 nervous system heart and Gastrointestiomal Tracy developed (1)
Week 6-7 Arms and legs sprout brain develops 5 areas nerves are visible Heart begins to beat (1)

A fetus is a human.

"Furthermore, that life is unquestionably human. A human being is a member of the species homo sapiens. Human beings are products of conception, which is when a human male sperm unites with a human female oocyte (egg). When humans procreate, they don€™t make non-humans like slugs, monkeys, cactuses, bacteria, or any such thing. Emperically-verifiable proof is as close as your nearest abortion clinic: send a sample of an aborted fetus to a laboratory and have them test the DNA to see if its human or not. Genetically, a new human being comes into existence from the earliest moment of conception." (2)

A fetus based of of all biology is a human at the moment of conseption. (3)

Fetus = human, killing a fetus = murder

C2: abortion causes breast cancer

"More than 30 studies have confirmed a relationship between having an abortion and the subsequent development of breast cancer. Since 1960 there has been a surge in the number of women developing breast cancer in the USA. Currently every woman in this nation has between a 10 and 12% chance of developing breast cancer." (4)

I know cool huh well not cool. Interesting is a better word.

Also in 2006 8 medical associations acknowledge that abortion causes breast cancer. (5)
A breast cancer researcher also says abortion has called 30k deaths. (6)

Dr. M. C. Pike, at the University of Southern California in l981, published the first serious scientific study that demonstrated a direct association of induced abortion with later breast cance (7)

C3: Abortion risk

Notice my case is actually pro women.

can create life-long devastating effects to your physical and mental well-being, as well as your spiritual well being (8)

The risk for eptomic pregnancies are 30% higher after having an abortion. (9) 5% of women suffer pelvic inflamatory deseize. (9) Abortion causes a women to become sterile 2-5% of the time. (9)
50% of women who have had abortions report experiencing emotional and psychological problems lasting for months or years (9)

In my opinion my case is pro women.

C4: fetuses feel pain

Fetuses feel pain at 8 weeks! (10) proof:

"Try sticking an infant with a pin and you know what happens. She opens her mouth to cry and also pulls away.

Try sticking an 8 week old human fetus in the palm of his hand. He opens his mouth and pulls his hand away." (10)

By 8 weeks the fetus has the 3 things needed for pain:

" What is needed is (1) a sensory nerve to feel the pain and send a message to (2) the thalamus, a part of the base of the brain, and (3) motor nerves that send a message to that area. These are present at 8 weeks. The pain impulse goes to the thalamus. It sends a signal down the motor nerves to pull away from the hurt." (11)

Evidence shows an unborn child can feel pain by 8 weeks after conception. (12)
