What does being ready for school actually mean? Is it all in the Academics or Social/Emotional Skills?

Choose whether you feel Academic skills are most important or whether Social/Emotional skills are more important. You must choose one only. Then, provide information to support your choice.

Schools in our modern time have lost touch with real education and are more focused on graduating students instead of actually preparing them for their future in college. This is most common in private schools where grades are severely inflated in order to make their statistics look more appealing to prospective families. By doing this, it severely disadvantages students when they go to college because their low quality effort and inflated grades got them through high school but then led them to do very poorly in college. I have seen this happen first hand. Students should thus develop social skill which will then lead to improved academic skill.
