What is the difference between African American and Blacks around the world?
J.Matlock

Con

African Americans are people (First or Second Generation) who were from Africa but became U.S. citizens.

Blacks are people of dark or black skin pigment. For example, I would not call a European from England who is black and never been to Africa, an African American or even an African European or African Engishman/woman. The reason being for that African american would be of course from Africa and now citizen of America (Specifically the U.S.). I would simply call this person, a person, but to describe them I would say a Black man or woman not an African Englishman/woman. That would not be officialy correct.

Why not drop the African from American. Why do blacks insist being called from Africa. Like you stated, not all blacks are from Africa. And not all Africans are black. Why not just judge each of us on the content of our character. I am sure I heard that somewhere before.

After a certain amount of generations we are no longer stated as our origin. IN truth most of humanity can trace their roots to Africa, so we are all African-(insert current nationality)

Are blacks around the world not of African origin? Why do we choose to exclude where we originate from?
