Al Gore is a completely dishonest and contemptible man. He is a liar and a fraud. I'm just getting started on this one.

Could you please explain in further detail why you believe these narcissistic views?
You need a basis for these comments...
without proof this is just an opinion which is not suitable for a debate!

Well, Al Gore says to everybody to "ride a bicycle," while he flies in his Gulfstream. He has a fleet of SUV's which are "owned by his family." He says to conserve electricity, yet he has a $20,000 electric bill, and he lives in Tennessee, where electricity is relatively cheap. He says we shouldn't pollute, but what about that zinc mine that he owns? He really wouldn't be polluting there. Oh, and carbon credits. How about Pope Albert I handing out indulgences that go to companies that receive the money, but don't do anything after they're paid? And Bono going to receive penance from His Holiness, and was "religious." You bet your a** it was. Oh, and there's the "I invented the internet." What a childish lie. You can find all of this information all on the internet, and it's not made up. Look it up. You're rebuttal?

Al Gore may have a $20,000 energy bill, yet it is completely carbon nuetral. Gore pays companies such as www.earthpreserver.com and www.carbonfund.com to offset his carbon waste by supporting clean energy programs.

About the Zinc Mine... no proof has been found that any damage to enviroment has been done...

Al Gore saying he "invented the internet" has been chided as being a hoax with no proof to back it up...

What did I just say about the carbon credits? Ummm, let's see, THAT THEY'RE BULLCRAP? And the internet thing is not a hoax.
K0N

Con

You cannot truly offset the carbon you entered into the air but you can help reduce carbon emissions in other areas by funding clean air programs... these websites just make it easier for you to help make the world a cleaner place...

You make erroneous statements but have no proof to back it up...
This debate will start and end as a measure of Al Gores character...
Al Gore did not make the a film about global warming for the money because he was already well off before the film...
He did it to give us a glimpse into the future and asks us to change our lifestyles completely...
Things like this take time and effort, Al Gore has said that he is working to make his home have less carbon emissions...
Wait a year or two...
then see what you have to say!

"Since when has a monarchy ever been a good thing?
All [monarchies] are doomed to fail..."

Would you rather have a government that is oppressive and wants to kill you (The current Islamic Republic of Iran.) or a government that is not oppressive and wants to be your ally (That is the proposal of the current heir to the former Shah's throne, Reza Shah II.)? Originally, I thought that yo meant they type of government, and didn't think anything about Iran.

Global warming is a theory, not fact, in the 70's it was Global cooling! Al Gore is a liar and a hypocrite. Anyone who believes global warming is caused by man is just a freaking sheep who does whatever MTV tells them to. Considering volcanoes pollute the earth more in a week than all the major cities in the world do in a year, I think Al Gore should be preaching to mother nature. Considering the earth is billions of years old, and we only have data from the last 200 years maximum, I think saying man has something to do with global warming is laughable. Besides, hasn't it been global warming since the ice age ended? Those god damn Mammoths and their SUV's!

George Bush did not go into Iraq for oil. That is utter bullsh*t, and no, the war would not have happened because 9/11 would not have happened in the first place. And I have seen a good portion of his film (Yes, I unfortunately have seen that unwatchable, mishapened film), and it does say to make major changes in our lives. If we all followed that advice, millions... Pardon me, BILLIONS of people would die. I would like to tell you about a similar example. Rachel Carson has, at the highest estimates, killed more people indirectly with "Silent Spring" than Chairman Mao did over the course of his genocides. Why? Because it said DDT, which is actually very safe, would kill off all animals that lay eggs due to DDT softening egg shells. It turns out that only affects certain species of raptors. And at what cost? 50 - 350 million dead of mosquito-borne diseases. We almost had malaria eradicated, but now, malaria kills almost a million people every year, most of them children. Also, this is junk science. Junk science kills, period. Let's take a look at the following example. Eugenics, a theory that inferior people are destroying civilization, and if we don't kill them or stop them from reproducing, civilization will collapse and we will all die. Every single scientist and politician agreed with this theory. And do you know what gruesome event happened because of it? THE HOLOCAUST!!! After that, when you asked someone what eugenics was, they would say, "What's eugenics?" I rest my case.

You're slinging mud. John McCain who will probably be running for President for your party believes in global Warming, George Bush Jr. admits Global warming exists. Al Gore, a man you obviously hate, which undermines your argument, helped these two men see the light by his strong case. The argument about the medieval period might have some validity, but there's no way the changes were as quick as these recent ones have been. For an intelligent person developing your view of the world I suggest you stop mud slinging and learn to argue by taking the other person's side. Then you will achieve wisdom something you obviously have the raw talent for, but are not there yet. I challenge you to take the argument for global warning. When you say a man like gore is looking for absolute control you are dipping down to name calling, something which might be fun to do but undermines your point. Good luck and don;t be so sure you;re always right and nothing will stop you from achieving your goals.
