ExipredMilkExpiredCows

Con

I am a cat and I am not a feline! Are you?!?!
lannan13

Pro

I accept. BOP is on Con to prove that he is not a feline and that he is a cat.

First I will define feline- belonging or pertaining to the cat family, Felidae. (http://dictionary.reference.com...)

My opponent's only argument is that he is a feline, but not a cat. Let me show you some cat people.

Debate Round No. 1

Con

Well none of them a feline either.
lannan13

Pro

All four of the photos that I have given you are photos of human-feline cat hybrids. This means that they are the ancesstor of felines and thus still felines. Since that are Cat human hybrids as well this menas that the resolution is thus upheld. You also need to remember that my opponent here still has to prove that he is a cat, but not a feline or vise-versa.

Con

You said 'Human-Feline cat hybrid' why would you say both cat and feline if they where not different?
lannan13

Pro

I said that to show that they are the same. To extend I will give you a quote from an encylopeadia,

" feline (family Felidae), any of 37 cat species that among others include the cheetah, puma, jaguar, leopard, lion, lynx, tiger, and domestic cat. Cats are native to almost every region on Earth, with the exception of Australia and Antarctica. They are carnivorous mammals that live in a wide variety of habitats, but they are typically woodland animals." (http://www.britannica.com...)

Here this shows that all cats are felines.

Con

They are not

Pro

My opponent has not offered a valid rebuttle and has not upheld the Burden of Proof.

So with that we can see that the resolution is upheld and I urge you to vote Pro.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct - Pro. Con forfeited a round which is rarely acceptable conduct in any debate setting. S&G - Pro. Con committed several grammar errors throughout this debate, whereas Pro did not. Arguments - Pro. Con provided poor rebuttals and did not sufficiently challenge the contentions raised by Pro. On the flip side, Pro sufficiently covered every point raised by Con. Sources - Pro. Con did not utilize sources throughout the debate, whereas Pro did.

Reasons for voting decision: I really do not need to say anything here, Pro had (far) better arguments so points to him, Conduct to Pro due to forfiet, Sources to Pro because he actually used them whilst Con used none and Spelling and Grammar to Pro since Con made spelling mistakes in the resolution (hardly any punctuation either). Therefore all 7 points to Pro (Pro actually deserves all 7 points, due to each category and not just FF)
