All public parks and nature areas should be sold off and privatized in the USA.

I'm a fan of capitalism and laissez faire. I think we need to minimize government. This includes public parks and nature areas. The idea of government having too much control is creepy to me.

As you can see by links [1-4] the idea is popular with national parks, so I say take it a step further and sell of and privatize all parks in the USA.

Worried about global climate change? Don't worry I'm sure God will provide. Animals? Remember, animals don't have souls, so therefore we can exploit them anyway we desire.

"No it shouldn't." BigMeatyBoy

This is a bare assertion, true only because my opponent says it is true. Think of the revenue selling off those parks would generate. Revenue that could be used to ease the debt crisis. Not only that but the businesses that buy the lands would stimulate the economy.

Strawman fallacy or some sort of odd variant of it. You are attacking an argument I did not make. Thanks for the debate.

Con

Pro clearly stated in Round 2 that my bare assertion was " true only because my opponent says it is true". He is saying that because I said it should not be privatized, it is true. His following arguments are nullified, as he admits I am right.

Vote Con.

4 points to Pro (Conduct, Arguments).. Reasons for voting decision: Conduct - Pro receives the conduct point due to his trolling and straw man fallacy. Con shows poor conduct and poor taste by accepting this debate without making any substantial arguments. Arguments - Con never addresses pro's arguments (that the government will make more money off of selling private land, that it is popular with the parks, and that we need less government. Con's argument boils down to "nuh-uh" and attempts to declare victory when pro is simply quoting him.

[*Reason for non-removal*] The voter sufficiently explains arguments and, though it's a little confusing to read (I think the voter meant "Con" in the opening sentence rather than "Pro"), the conduct point is explained well enough to allow it.

Reasons for voting decision: BigMeatyBoy doesn't really put up any kind of argument at all. Stupidape's argument may not have been the best, but at least there was an argument at all.
