America is a nation of doers. Many people help out one another.
We have global warming movements. San Fran. protests on tuition increase. Obama told N. Korea and Iran to stop threatening people with nuclear weapons.

As my opponent's first statement is "America is a nation of doers," I am assuming that she intended to be PRO.

My position is that America is a nation of both doers and spectators.

The doers:

The spectators:

As there are both spectators and doers, the resolution is negated, as I am apparently supposed to be CON.

Good luck disproving the existence of spectators in America. ;)

My mistake.
I do mean that I go for that america is a nation of doers.
I am a pro not con.
(Sorry, it is my first time.)

My opponent's argument:
"I propose that the majority of america is a nation of doers, not spectators. Many people have had global warming movements, and Obama has tried telling North Korea and Iram to stop threatening people with nuclear weapons."
False. Even doers are also spectators. To take my opponent's examples, people in global warming movements still watch television, and Barack Obama spectated at a baseball game. Most people in America have spectated, and are therefore spectators.
Additionally, even if I were to grant my opponent's contentions to be true, it would not affirm the resolution. The statement that America is a nation of doers and not spectators assumes that there are no spectators in America, which I have already shown to be false.

In conclusion, America is a nation of both doers and spectators, with most people being both doers AND spectators.

With that, I leave the floor to my opponent.

Sadly, my opponent has forfeited.

The resolution has repeatedly been negated, and as the one who is supposed to be CON, I say, vote CONQ

Hey everyone,

I am very sorry for the inconvenience I have made. To clear it all up:

1) I accidentally made a mistake by saying I am a con not a pro.
2) It was my first time making a debate and I just wanted to try out how this debate thing worked.
3) I am so confused.

I totally understand that you guys want to vote for my opponent, (I would too) because my opponent had way more details and comebacks.

Thank you for reading this debate anyways!

disgirlrocks, while admitting to your mistake, you forgot to actually make an argument.

I'll give you one day to post something here in the Comments to count as your argument, so that I can quote it and put it in the debate.

If you do not wish to make any arguments, and had no arguments in the actual debate on purpose, please tell me, and this debate will go on.

Thanks,
mongeese

disgirlrocks, I'm assuming you actually intend to be PRO? That's what your argument seems to indicate.
