We, as a country, are not doing very good. We have so many flaws in out system that ridiculous laws are being passed and our country has no direction.
Hiskid

Con

well, in order to struggle, you need to be able to compare to a country who is not struggling in order to know what struggle looks like. In our world, the United States is actually doing very well in comparison to the many 3rd world countries. Our healthcare and education is decent. We are a global SUPERPOWER

I'd argue to say that the USA is getting along just fine

If America is a world superpower, then why are our children struggling in life? Over 1/2 of our students are given free lunch everyday. AND over 1/6 of African American kids are in povetry. Also, if we were so powerful, then why our so many people living in America on welfare and food stamps? What the heck?!
Hiskid

Con

The fact that we are able to provide FREE lunch to HALF of the educated students in america speaks for the strength of our country, as does the welfare system. In other countries, there is no welfare, you're just done for. The fact that we have the ability to feed and manage those who can't do so themselves is impressive.

And before you bring up our homeless, let's just understand that EVERY country has homeless, and is not a reflection on the nations ability.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct goes to Con because Pro ff. Spelling/Grammar was reasonable for both. Both argued weakly, but Con at least argued. He rebutted well Pro's claim that providing free food is a sign that the country is not struggling. No sources were used by both. So I vote Con.
