In this debate I am the pro supporting that an STD can form between two people that do not contain and STD to begin with.

In this argument:
Unaffected: A person not carrying an STD whether knowing it or not.

I look to have a good debate! Thanks.

Thanks OHL!

I'll bite . . . let's see where this is going.

STD - sexually transmitted disease.

"sexually transmitted" - transmitted via sex-acts

From the US National Library of Medicine: "Disease" is "A definite pathologic process with a characteristic set of signs and symptoms." http://www.definitions.net...

I sincerely hope my opponent doesn't argue that "life is a sexually transmitted disease."

As we learned with the development of micro-biology, pathogens are either viruses or bacteria. If a host does not contain a virus or bacteria for the STD, then the STD cannot spontaneously form, unless you believe in spontaneous generation. If my opponent does argue this, I'll refute it in the next round.

Okay... I await my opponent's case.

Thanks!, It's actually not me arguing, but my friend. But I'll post her responses since she's computer illiterate.

She claims that if a clitoris is rubbed by a penis over and over again, it can "form" bacteria causing the guy to now carry an STD that can be transmitted to any other girl he participates in sexual acts with.

Thanks!

lol, based on the quotations around the word "form" it doesn't seem like you believe your friend's argument either.

First, I'd ask for a source to substantiate this claim.

Second, I don't know many people who engage in rubbing the penis against the clitoris repeatedly. That's just weird. If you don't believe me, "During intercourse the penis does not contact the clitoris directly." http://www.atihealthnet.com... If you still don't believe me, maybe you and your friend should try it and find out for sure. ;) you're welcome. Tell her that I said she can't prove her argument until she does this.

Lastly, if there is bacteria that is transferred, the woman already had the bacteria to begin with, so it was transmitted, sexually.

fair enough - i was thinking repeatedly as in for 10 min or something; i don't think any sort of bacteria could form after just a few times

No, it's teasing foreplay.

Well, that was an interesting final round.

I sent Bluesteel a PM with it. It all depends on 1 definition, that most people would accept in R1 (especially if it was hidden with other definitions and doesn't look like it is all that important).

"If you still don't believe me, maybe you and your friend should try it and find out for sure. ;) you're welcome". Lol, that was very smooth Bluesteel. I bet your advice really helped both of them lol.

Yeah...if Pro said that (unaffected=asymptomatic), then I suppose that he would have won...if he just used the facts well, and determined when the two people "interacted"...(as in, early in the progession of the disease so that the infected person is asymptomatic).

S*** had to come from somewhere, but there's still semantic issues with the resolution wording

OreEle, I'm curious so tell me after the debate is over.

But pro did say unaffected meant uninfected, not asymptomatic. I dunno if that makes a difference to you...

This is an easy win for Pro, if they know the right diseases.

LOL this debate is too much. This is what happens when parents rely on schools ad media to teach their children about sex!!! (its actually a very serious issue)

Pro, please tell this to your friend:

It is true that the clit gets swollen from sex. this might be what they were experiencing and confusing for an std. A little bit of swelling is normal, but when a dirty person comes in contact with that area, the clit can become infected. (this doesn't hapen as much with the vaginal walls, because they clean themselves, but the urinary track can become infected.) So before you do it, make your sure your guy has a clean junk and clean hands!

Reasons for voting decision: Bluesteel dispelled OldHippyLiberal's resolution by noting the nature of pathogens and germs and also responded to Pro's 'friend's' claims about cliotis. Bluesteel used adequate sources, and did not forfeit as well.
