Pro

Ancient China has had many inspirational philosophers, even a whole belief-like system, Confucianism . China is a great country when it comes to philosophy. Confucius all the way.
Wycek

Con

My opponent has not proved anything. He has not shown how Ancient China was the most philosophical ancient civilization, just that they were philosophical. I could just as easily argue that Buddhist philosophy from India was superior, or ancient Greek philosophy, such as from philosophers like Socrates and Zeno of Citium.

Nick, Wycek does have a point. He could just as easily argue that the teachings of Socrates or Plato was just as good as Confucius. And Ancient Greek had more philosophers anyways. You didn't do anything with that argument. And that statement was kinda based on opinion, and it doesn't really prove anything. Your my friend and all, but I am going to have to side with Wycek on this one. And why haven't you challenged me to any debates lately? I am willing to debate on anything as long as it at least partially stimulates my mind. And a word of advice, don't insult your opponents or your gonna get blocked.

I don't think anyone wants to throw in on this one because it is a very vague debate that no one feels strongly about. And this could boil down into a ethnic superiority match. China would be a contender for most technologically advanced ancient civilization. What with toilet paper and ship building methods. But the Indians had some of the best metallurgy at that time. And Rome probably would be the most comfortable lifestyle for a modern man. With the exception of toilet paper.

I meant if no one accepts in a few days. I do agree with you however that it is very philosophical, however I think I would be able to counter. Still, I will wait, and if in a few days no one accepts, I may.

Then why didn't you accept if it is so easy to win?

Reasons for voting decision: Pro has not met his burden of proof. He has shown that ancient China is indeed very philosophical, but that doesn't support his resolution that it is the most philosophical ancient civilization.
