Android is better than iOS
Debate Rounds (3)
Android was initially made by Andy Rubin in Palo Alto, California in October 2003 then bought by Google shortly after its creation. The Android OS is open source, and Google doesn"t charge any fees to use the operating system on the device. This allows any manufacturer to load Android onto their phones. iOS, on the other hand, is not open source and is unable to run on any other phone other than Apple"s iPhone. Since Android can run on virtually any phone and is not restricted to iPhones, manufacturers have been producing phones with better hardware than the iPhone, such as more CPU cores, more RAM, and a larger storage. Most Android phones also have a slot for an SD card to expand the storage.
The current developer fee for Android is only $25 for life, while iOS is $99 a year. With a higher developer fee on iOS, it makes it hard for people with free apps to pay the developer fee on iOS, while on Android it is a one-time low fee. Android also has a slightly hidden feature that isn"t advertised which is the ability to install third-party apps. This is completely legal of course, and it won"t damage the phone. Third-party apps that are installed from a source rather than the app store were made by a developer that didn"t have to pay the developer fee, and just because they aren"t on the official store doesn"t mean it"s a virus. Android has its own built in antivirus, unlike apple with no antivirus, built in or downloadable.
Android is chosen more than an iOS phone because Android has more phones that run the OS, a larger app store on Android phones, and the more customization options that Android offers over iOS. Android has been, and always will be open source, which means that anybody can download the operating system and load it onto any compatible phone or device, while iOS is closed source, and can only be installed on Apple devices. The Android app store is larger because of the lower developer fee and the target of the developers as more people use Android, the developers can make more money. While iOS has the weather in the notification bar as well as temperature and Android doesn"t, what Android does have is a widget on the home screen, and there"s even an option to turn it on for the lock screen.
Android phones are chosen more than iOS phones because of the larger selection of phones, larger app store, and a better organization and customization system. Apple only allows their operating system to be run on their own phones, and they have countless security protocols that won"t allow it to be installed on any other manufacturer"s phone. While iOS charges a large yearly fee for developers to post apps, Android only charges a low, one-time fee in return putting more apps on the Android app store. With Android being open source, there is more customization options, and better organization; because it is open source, people are able to make their own versions of it, each unique. Android hasn"t always taken lead over iOS, but because of recent changes in the iOS and Android operating system, Android has quickly taken the lead.Q95;
Throughout the years Android has gone through many display changes in their operating system making drastic and small changes. Although apple has kept it pretty much the same (simple). If you pick up and iOS device or a Windows OS device they will look fairly the same, sure the icons may be different and the screensaver may be different. But thanks to very strict customization options, both can"t be pimped out and altered by the user ( Jail Breaking an iPad is illegal now). However android is completely different.
"Both Siri and Cortana have their ups and downs. Siri is accurate in understanding what you"re saying, but is limited in what you can actually do with it. You can ask it to set an alarm, start a timer or listen to what song is playing, but not much else. Cortana, named after the character in the Halo game series, is a bit of a mixture between Siri and Google Now. It"ll spew out news in the morning and you can ask it to perform tasks, but the accuracy isn"t quite there yet and the information it throws up isn"t always the most useful."-Max Parker
This makes a good point but which you prefer, an assistant that can understand you and do things right, or an assistant who can do more things just not always the way you want it to be done.
And back to what you have said on the app store
Google Play " 1,000,000+ apps. Other app stores like Amazon and Getjar also distribute Android apps. (unconfirmed ".APKs")
Apple app store " 1,000,000+ apps
as seen here http://www.diffen.com...
Android and iPhone have around the same amount of apps'
With iOS devices coming out very seldom (less than Android devices are released) while they're trying to beat Model 4 of that Android phone, Model 5 has already come out and work on Model 6 has begun. Android phones are released many different times by many different manufacturers, in return creating many different options for an Android phone.
With many different manufacturers all competing against each other, they have smoked iOS devices in terms of performance, fitting higher processing components into the phones.
Android has widgets, a big advantage over iOS. Lets talk notifications. Android shows a little app icon preview in the bar, iOS doesn't. Android has true WiFi texting, iOS just has iMessage. I can go on and on why Android is better than iOS.
