Hi, everyone! LlaurenTheLlama here.

If you would like to participate in this debate, please leave a comment. You would be for Con, meaning that you do not support animal rights.

The debate will include an opinion on:
*Animal Testing
*Chains (not including leashes)
*Zoos (whether they're kind to animals or not)
*Kill and No-Kill animal shelters

Some other things to know:

*I don't have a format preferred, but take note that the first round is acceptance only and the last round is your ending remarks, not rebutals!
*You have 72 hours to reply.
*The maximum character count is 10,000 characters.
*The voting period will last six months.
*The voter is not required to add a comment or RFD, although they certainly can!
*No trolling/spamming!
*If someone forfeits, they must post their rebuttal/argument/reply in the comments section or you lose a point for Conduct.
*Tell me in the comments if you decide to forfeit this entire debate.

Thanks,
LlaurenTheLlama

Oh, and thanks, Ragnar, for the doc. Not sure if I'm going to be able to read it all, though.

@AndDon'tCallMeShirley It's fine, and it's not that I don't want to debate you, but, yeah, let's make it a tie. Thanks,

Sorry. I feel bad. I didn't know you were looking to accept an opponent from the comments section.

If you don't want to debate me, we can just make this debate a "tie."

I advise starting a second debate on this, issued straight to your chosen opponent. And in future back the apply in comments rule with mechanics as explained here... https://docs.google.com...

So, how come someone else accepted?

@Wylted, you have been accepted and can proceed anytime now. Sorry about the title. Personally, I define animal respect as treating them like the Golden Rule says. When I say that, I mean that we should not torture them, chain them to a post their whole life, and all that. You get my point? If humans were being tested on shampoo and chemicals, the public would be in an uproar, whereas with animals, not many would rise a finger to help them.

The title is not the resolution from what I gather from the first paragraph

I suggest adding definitions, most importantly how the debate will define respect.

Any objection to me taking this? If you do not respond soon enough, and nobody accepts, I'll proceed.

I take the resolution to mean that you are supporting the fact that animals should have rights, I am arguing that they should not have rights.

Just to give you the option to opt out of a debate you don't warn, I warn you that my argents will be philosopbical, but easy to digest. They will likely touch on the nature of rights and who should and should not have them and how that should be determined
