I think animals should have rights. Why shouldn't they? They're animals, WE are animals. What's the difference? With medical and makeup testing, If the technology or makeup is for humans, test it on humans! Rats and Bunnies might have similar DNA to us but they aren't us. They could have different reactions. Also with situations like PETA, they stand up for animals and take them in but after a weeks or two, the ones that didn't get adopted, get thrown into barrels and gassed. Fight me.
Although I agree that animals should have basic protections from physical harm, that should be it. To consider dogs and cats on the same level as humans is absured. Can a dog have a job? make money? no. Can a cat pay taxes? no. Animal rights is for the most part a joke. Animals are semi intelligent beings, but aren't on the same level as humans in any way. To treat them as people is incredibly unintelligent.
I never said that they should have the same rights as humans. That's crazy. But animal testing and animal abuse shouldn't be legal. Killing an animal shouldn't have the same charges as killing a human but there should be charges. Not roadkill, not wild animals, but pets and scientific research shouldn't be harming and killing them
You claimed you support the group PETA, which would mean you support animals having the rights of humans. Animal rights is a joke, as Ted Nugent once said. PETA has stated that humans and animals are equal. Clearly, you say you support PETA, but don't seem to know much about their extremist ideology.
Animal rights groups like PETA also hold double standards. Ellen DeGeneras took a photo of her child standing on her dog, and PETA didn;t make a peep. Sarah Palin did the same thing and PETA flipped out. PETA's extremist ideology, which you claim to support, is absured.
