I believe so, I mean there are billions of galaxies and Billions of planets in the OBSERVABLE universe! I'm not saying advanced although that might be likely, but just life!
benschroeder43

Con

I would like to begin by asking how you define an alien.

We already know of most likely "alien" life on Mars (considering microbial lifeforms as life) which make this debate easily in your favor, in fact it is unarguably in your favor. Perhaps we should change it to the possibility of advanced alien life.

If you agree with my idea, shall we define advanced as having created technology equivalent or more advanced than that of the industrial period on earth?

Alien, a living being that does not originate from Earth. That is the definition that I am using. I would also like to claim that somewhere there are civilizations that do not originate from Earth

Con

I am very sorry to be nitpicky, but your definition is still vague. What do you mean by alien "being"? Are you referring to intelligent alien life? As for alien life in general, I can't argue that, it's pretty much been proven on mars.

Let's argue the idea of alien civilizations.
There is no evidence as far as I can see of alien civilization. Although it certainly is a very likely possibility, no genuine evidence supports the idea. At least to my knowledge, there is none, but perhaps you have something else to offer.

My opponent has forfeited their last round, to maintaining consistency in this debate, and prevent myself from having an unfair advantage of an extra round, I shall not create an argument this round.

The only alien life we could ever find will be bacteria. Think about earth's timeline. 4.5 billion years and intelligent life has only been present for a minute fraction. The chances of finding intelligent life on another planet billions of years old are too small to contemplate.

Narrow down the definition for alien... An alien could just be a chinese person in America... Plus, worst debate topic ever... We already know that there was water on Mars, and in that water could survive bacteria, bacteria is considered alien life. So yea.

I think you should define what an alien is. Just to know what the challenger will be against...
