Why do I ask this?
Jesus never judged people, he never talked down to people, never left someone out because of who they were or what social circle they belonged too.
He loved everyone as equals. Did all he could to help people who needed help. Gave a hand to those who needed it, and tried to help those in need.

Unlike modern day Christians. Who do nothing but pass judgment. Ignore those in need of a simple hand. Or thought down on those that don't read from the same novel they read from.

Christians have so many bibles how do they know what one's right? I mean if you keep buying your 'word' from a bargain bin at walmart. Your gonna keep getting crap.

Why not forget the book, stick to YOUR faith, and STOP judging people based on their feelings? It's so bad I even see Christians from separate churches battling each other beliefs. Which are supposed to be based on the same thing.

In this debate I am con. That means that I must prove that Christians are not the real anti-christ.

To begin I offer definitions. As we are talking about christianity this definition should very valid.
Antichrist ((Christianity) the adversary of Christ (or Christianity) mentioned in the New Testament; the Antichrist will rule the world until overthrown by the Second Coming of Christ)

Definition continued to reinforce the anti-chist in christian belief I used.

In the Christian belief, a person who will represent on earth the powers of evil by opposing the Christ, glorifying himself, and causing many to leave the faith. He will be destroyed by Jesus at the time of the Second Coming. 1 John 2.18-22; 4.3; 2 John 7; and Rev. 13. (http://www.answers.com...)

I must also define Christian. A Christian is a religious person who believes Jesus is the Christ and who is a member of a Christian denomination.(http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu...)

Now, to combat my opponents arguments.
He rants about the bible and how there are different versions. All of which stem from Hebrew translation and are dumbed down (mind the term) as every generation gets, well, less intelligent.

He rants about judgement that Christians do. Just because they are judging does not make them the anti-christ but rather bad Christians.

My argument
Seeing, as no Christian currently living fits the critieria under the definition of anti-christ. Christians or a Christian is not the real anti-christ and the resolution is negated.

Koopin, I agree a lot of the more damaging differences between versions of the bible have been ironed out, but the fact remain that current translations are based on copies of copies that were written decades after the events. And there are some frustrating (for Christians) differences between, say, the gospel accounts of the empty tomb that in my view haven't been successfully reconciled.

Totally agree with you about generalising.

According to the NT, Jesus was not perfect- that was almost the point. He was human, with human frailties.

Yes, there are a bunch a different versions, but most of them are all alike.

OKJV: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
NlV: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

But then there are some wacko bibles that I find amusing.
One of the most crazy but funny one is this.

The Message: First this, God created the Heavens and Earth all you see, all you don't see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.

Anyway, you can't say:

"Unlike modern day Christians. Who do nothing but pass judgment."

That's saying that that's all every Christian does. Just because there are a lot of people who pass judgment does not mean everyone does.

It's like saying,
Unlike modern day Americans, Who are all Asian.

One last thing, we (Christians) are still humans. Jesus was perfect. We must try to be like him, but we shall never be perfect.

'Religion today is crap. It's nothing but judging people and being stupid'

Why wasn't THAT the resolution?

There is certainly not just one universal Bible. Aside from the many different translations which can often alter the meaning significantly, there are also different accepted cannons for different Christian denominations.

The diiference with the Quran is that the original Arabic version is the only accepted one.

Jesus was not a Christian lol. He was Jewish and King of the Jews no less.

Absolutely wrong! Wow.
1 universal bible? Have you see how many different bibles there are these days?
Go to a big book store and look around. There's the Holy Bible, King James version, and a bunch of others. There is NOT just 1 version. You people are so ignorant it blows me away.

And like I said if you actually read the debate. Jesus did NOT treat people the way christians and so called religious people treat people today. That's what I'm saying. Religion today is crap. It's nothing but judging people and being stupid.

I'm confused are you talking about the modern-day Christian because technically Jesus was also a christian.
