I believe that college should not be free, as the cost would be too great. To say that tuition costs could be covered by the government, is preposterous. If there is an artificial demand for these tuition through government guarantees, universities would simply raise their prices. For example, you run a pizza shop, and the government decides to subsidize people getting pizza, the smart thing to do would be raising prices to adjust for people getting their pizza paid for, PragerU Did a good video about it. In 1980, the average tuition cost was $3,400, today it's over $23,000. Unfortunately we have not been seeing an improvement in college tuition costs, my view on fixing this is to remove government subsidies and allow the colleges to compete. https://www.youtube.com... |
