Video games can teach creativity, and alot of other valuable skills.

I love the detail of your first argument "and alot of other valuable skills"- perhaps being slightly more specific would benefit this debate.

To begin, videogames do not teach that many good qualities, and plenty of bad ones. Violent video games (the largest amount sold) teach aggression and unhealthy competitiveness, as well as building up stress levels and causing massive levels of depression and anger: http://www.pamf.org...

Video game addiction breaks up families, as this person experienced: http://www.tfpstudentaction.org... and causes eviction, unemployment and thus depression or stress. As such, the subject manifests anti social behaviour.

Video games lead to a lack of interpersonal skills- most video games are violent and involve insulting the people you play against or else are played alone, which leads to a lack of communication. Not socialising enough will kill the economy- employers look hard for people with good interpersonal skills, people who can talk and understand how to resolve situations, whereas most videogames teach that to solve a problem, kill whoever is causing it or call them names and yell.

In 2014, Call of Duty sold over 11,000,000 copies. Halo has sold over 60,000,000, Destiny sold 5,000,000 copies in one week and the pattern emerges. Furthermore, when new games are released, people take sick days en masse and it hits the economy- as seen here http://kotaku.com....

Summary:
1) Video games instil bad behavioural processes
2) Video games cause a lack of social skills
3) Video games cause people to miss school/ work.

Due to the broadness of the category, my arguments are made much easier to articulate, do people want me to counter my own arguments to provide more depth, as pro seems disengaged?

As the others said is true that you need to narrow it down as there are specific games that were made for education.

You should probably be more specific, and explain in ALOT greater detail pro.

Could you narrow it down a bit? Talking about "video games" in such a general sense is going to make this debate very unfocus.
