I offer the Con/Negative Debater the right of first opening arguments.

_Main Question_
Are ‘Virtual Pets/Games' such as ‘Neopets' and ‘Pokemon' good resources for families/and or children to learn more about ‘Responsibility'.

Thank you for the debate and lets begin.

Definitions:
1. Responsible
"reliable or dependable, as in meeting debts, conducting business dealings, etc."
http://dictionary.reference.com...

2. Good
"kind, beneficent, or friendly: to do a good deed."
http://dictionary.reference.com...

3. Young Children
I assume that this is anyone below the age of 12.

Arguments:
The difference between reality and video games

Being a good racing gamer does not make you a good driver (http://tinyurl.com...) nor do the fighting games improve you prowess when it comes to fighting in the real life (http://tinyurl.com...) so how is this genre of video games different?

In conclusion, it's my opponents burden to prove that the skills these children will learn from video games can and will be used in the real life.

Yeah, but who want to lose and have their pets die? In that sense, I can see from where my opponent is coming from, though, I am not playing the devils advocate.

Obviously, vardas wins.
I mean, virtual pets can die as many times as they want and the kids playing the game could do whatever they want, INCLUDING not caring about responsibility.
