Cheat codes are so lame. Kids use them to beat games faster. This is what I think. Kids parents spend so much money on a game but, when they get home to play it for 2 hours you use cheat codes to cheat on a game. Now do you think that your parents want you to sit around and play video games all day but, then to cheat on the video games. I is just not cool.

Con

I accept.

Rebuttals:

-Cheat Codes are lame:

Cheat Codes aren't entirely lame. In fact, Grand Theft Auto has a huge fan based just because of their cheat codes, which include the following:

- Cause Roits
- Change the Weather
- Blow up all the Cars around you.
- Get a tank
- Make Pedestrians go nuts.

Many of the game's fan base only play the game for these not-lame Cheat Codes, which makes the game more fun and interesting.

Kids parents spend so much money on a game...

The cost of the Game is irrelevant though. If the cost is too high, knowing your child will use Cheat Codes, than it's on you to not buy it.

Now do you think that your parents want you to sit around and play video games all day...

I'm not sure what your point is? It sounds like you believe cheat codes are bad because they keep you from playing video games all day. Most parents would rather you play video games for only 2 hours than for you to play them 6-10 hours.

Con's Argument:

1) Natural Design:

The Cheat Codes aren't an invasion of the games purpose, but an addition by the company. They added Cheat Codes into the game with the hopes that you would use them some day.

No Game Designer gave you the ability to use Cheat Codes because they thought the Cheat Code was bad. What makes something in a game bad is if the Game Designers didn't intend on it being there, much like the following:

- Unintended, game-breaking camping spots
- Bugs
- Hacks
- Spamming (unless it's Mortal Kombat)

2) Benefits:

Most people will beat the game first. If you beat the game in 2 hours because you used Cheat Codes, than that's your faut, not the codes.

You used Cheat Codes =/= The Cheat Code's fault (It's bad)
You used Cheat Codes = Your fault (you're bad)

When used appropiately, Cheat Codes have many benefits, such as adding to the game's overall excitement, appeal, and insanity (much like GTA 3 and GTA 4.)

Cheat Codes make games more fun, funnier, crazy, exciting, and all around more awesome. Misuse will deter the Cheat Codes benefits, but it's your fault, not the codes.

I agree that it is not codes fault. Still cheat codes can glitch your game and, mess it all up. So who is the guy that wants to mess his whole game up trying to pass one level? So that's what I have to say about that.

Than that's your fault for using the Cheat Code. This makes the bad Cheat Codes bad, but not all Cheat Codes.

Some Cheat Codes are bad =/= All Cheat Codes are bad.

Few Cheat Codes mess up. Most games do not even have Cheat Codes that mess up. Almost no game in the world has a Cheat Code that messes up the game so bad that yo can never play it again.

Pro is confusing the Game Designers being bad at programming the Code with the Code itself being bad. The Cheat Codes are all good, and bare good ideas... If one doesn't work right, it was still a good idea... It's not bad, the programmer was.

I think cheat codes stink.

Rebuttals:

I think cheat codes stink.

Most would disagree with you.

The GTA Cheat Codes mentioned have found extreme success and have doubled the Game's excitement. They made it more hilerous and fun, extending the game's appeal to many people.

Without the Cheat Codes, which are very fun to use and do not 'stink', the game's fanbase would likely be a lot smaller. You see this in Saint's Row, where the developers stopped making you work for mostof the products, as the excitement of the game is in blowing things up and simply being reckless without restrictions.

GTA making it's players have to work for everything, spending a week or more to unlock the Rocket Launcher for example, has had a negative effect on the game series. The Cheat Codes gave the players the ability to void the restrictions and play the game as liked.

Many Cheat Codes are simply for fun, like the following:
- Cause Roits
- Change the Weather
- Blow up all the Cars around you.

These Cheat Codes are exciting, and add to the fun.

Stink:
:To be highly offensive or abhorrent.
:To be in extremely bad repute.

:To be of an extremely low or bad quality.

:To have the appearance of dishonesty or corruption.(1)

The Cheat Codes listed are fun and exciting, and do not match any of the above definitions.
The Pro has used the phrase "I think..." This implies an opinion and not a factual argument.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct and Arguments to Con since Pro posted no arguments for the final round, instead asserting personal opinion. Sources to Con since Con gave examples while Pro mostly just went by personal feeling.

Reasons for voting decision: Clearly, Pro's technical debate was nonexistent. This could have been made more interesting if Pro had actually clashed with Con.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro dropped all of Con's arguments. Also, you don't need to say if it's what you think (we know it is), just if it's not what you think.

Reasons for voting decision: ARGUMENT: Pro started decent, then degraded into circular reasoning. Con have details on why cheat codes are not all lame (riot codes etc).
