Dad show girls what a man needs to be or not to be. If a girl is lucky enough to have a good dad then she will know how a man needs to treat her and her family. If a girl sadly has been stuck with a absent or crappy dad then she will know what her man doesn't need to be like.

Before I begin let me state that I am not saying that men are unimportant in parenting. I'm simply arguing that mothers play a bigger role in the upbringing of children.

Biological Necessities
Well right out the gate we can see that a mother plays a much larger role in upbringing a child than a father. Birth is something that can only be performed by a female and an act that without which a baby can never form. Not only this but the mother is the primary source of food for the young infant for the early part of it's life. Throughout the early portion of an infants life the father is nonessential to it's growth as the primary role of a father is social guider and emotional guider, two things that the infant cannot even understand untill it's later years.

Social Roles
Now while we agree that a father plays an important role in social developement I argue that this role can pretty much be filled by the mother in a fathers absense. A mother can give the same kind of discipline, guidence, and structure that a father can albeit less effectively.

Pretty short arguments but basically to sum it up mothers are biologically essential while fathers simply guide the more social aspects of the child.

Are you serious? I have both parents and both are equally great. The are both unique in their own way. Yes, sometimes I fight with one of them sometimes. Why is this even philosophy? It's like asking is having a brother or sister better? Dads are just as important if you have the right parenting. Sometimes dads are better sometimes moms are better. It depends how you were raised.
