Pro

Established rules are indeed too limited to guide people in any possible real life situations. This is because those who establish rules are not omniscient and can not possibly anticipate every single real life situation individuals are capable of running in to. Established rules are fine, but nothing makes up for sheer experience when dealing with various situations (vague due to character limit, but the point is rather clear. :D).

There's always the "Rule of Thumb", which states that the stick with which you beat your woman can be no bigger around than your thumb; that's a pretty clear bit of guidance for those kinds of situations. :P

I'm guessing rules passed by government. I'm not sure what ones guide people in situations.
