Games are good for kids because they can have great fun and entertain themselves.

Firstly, I'm presuming you mean video games otherwise this is awkward.

The premise over whether something is good or bad is not dependent on whether it's "great fun" or it entertains you. By this same logic you can say heroin is good as you can have great fun and entertain yourself. Perhaps this is an unneeded escalation, but then again perhaps not. The fact is games are designed to be as addictive as possible so as to entice you to play them more and to buy any extra content (DLCs) and to continuing purchasing the game series (famous examples include the call of Duty series, Fifa and World of Warcraft). How is it good for children to be enticed into an addiction? Before you claim it not an addiction, why would an addiction treatment center in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, have teenagers and young adults begin detox because of video games, its the psychological effect of needing to complete this mission or max out this character that causes an obsession for children. Also some studies indicate a rise in dopamine levels (not conclusive) showing that it does have physical effects on the body (not disregarding the very real psychological effects).

Financially video games are quite expensive. Not only are the price of new games reaching an average of "40+ but you have to take into consideration the amount needed to buy the console, pay for online, pay for repairs, pay for any extra content. Gene with PC games the computer still needs to be upgraded and components aren't cheap. By either constantly buying games for kids, or allowing kids to spend all their money on games, it devalues how much money is really being spent and quite honestly makes them spoilt. Not to mention the electricity cost as well.

I have other arguments but that is all for now.
