I firmly believe that human beings are destroying our Earth. I have evidence of such degradation in the everyday life.
Take into account deforestation, caused by the high request of land for agriculture and urban development, the extensive action of the logging industry, and also wildfires and acid rains.
As another proof of this ruin, let's think about air pollution, caused by industries, heating systems and traffic of motor vehicles, that cause serious problems to respiratory and cardiovascular apparatus, but also contribute to the global heating, a problem nowadays much discussed.
Moreover, the industrial system has spread through advertising a consumer psychosis that obliges people to chase happiness buying unnecessary items and throwing away others, such as clothes, food, furniture and objects, considered as garbage even if they're still usable. All this rubbish takes a long time to degrade, and remains in natural environments ruining it.
Today, also agriculture contributes to pollution: farmers are forced, in order to survive to the free market and globalization, to use pesticides, fungicides and fertilizers, that poison aquifers with their slag and that could make land unproductive.
Human beings are no more the ones that appeared on Earth millions of years ago, when they adapted themselves to the world without modifying natural environments, only realizing useful structures to adapt the nature, as dams or channels for irrigation, they are behaving without considering the effects of their actions on the Earth.

From what you listed, i think you don't understand what it feels like to not have cars and other transportation's. Why not you start living like a caveman, using fire as your only light source? And you shouldn't be on computer either, cos computer runs on electricity and electricity are generated by patrol, which we get from Earth! Although, i agree that we are consuming alot of Earth's natural resources, but if we don't use these natural resources, how are we going to live?

Wow... no one is saying that we have to go back to CAVE MAN DAYS. I mean we can live as civilizations that farm and hunt. We wouldn't be exposing bad chemicals into the atmosphere, and a lot of other unhealthy things to our planet. See what i mean is humans are to greedy to live in peace and harmony and today we have made our own poison. Nuclear war heads >.> how dumb can we be to make something that can destroy mass amounts of life on earth. Overall yes we are destroying earth and for those who say you can't live without cards narcotics etc, ....seriously i think that is your own fault. If iwe grew up burning calories every day eating berries and nuts. Living a healthy lifestyle and no harsh chemicals or acids in our plants and foods. I hope everyone understands what i mean, its not like we can not life a good life without electricity. Transportation would be horses etc, but once more the day will come and them Nukes that we have created will destroy life on earth. And you cant say that the nukes won't be used because im pretty sure they are not going to sit on this earth for another 100-200 years.

Yes Its true that we are destroying the earth. But there is no choice. We cant live as cavemens. Those days are gone. We dont have any choice except living like that. I am sure that each person will like to have a car of his own. All the luxuries of life. SO I do agree that we are destroying the earth. We cant do any thing just to simply watch and wait for the last day.. If we worry about all the things we cant live. So we need to make the best use of our lives because its just a journey towards death. And we cant stay without electricity or computers televisions etc.. THose all are a important part of our daily lives. Actually we have no other choice except living in the way of life we live today

This is simply hang wringing on your part- typical of the leftist globaloney entusiasts, who are clueless to science

Do you not agree that human health is far better today that centuries past?

Do you not agree that lifespans and QOL are much better?

The Earth, contrary to your notion, is NOT a sentient being- it is a big rock with lots of living systems on it that could care less what we do or not

Your theory feeds into the notion that we humans are BAD for the planet, and outside of its scope, rather than being an intergral part at its stewards.

We can solve all of the problems that you mention through progress and technology, and are doing that right now.

Soalr-hydrogen can power the entire transportation sector, with NO Pollution

organic farming and products are on the rise - look at how prevalent Whole Foods is now

Pollution is on the decline here and in free nations, and only thrives in places like China, where totalitarian dictators rule and suppress environmentalists

To summarize, the depression you feel is simply your paying attention to the dingbats in the mainstream media that ONLY give you DOOM-GLOOM-DOOM-GLOOM

Wake up- open your eyes- become more optimistic- you will be a much happier person

simonote...after reading your profile, I can't figure out why you're supporting a democrat. Do some more research, you're probably a Conservative (it's not a bad word).
