This is my 1st debate on here so forgive any messy formate issues.

I have read over several other debates and I know I want a more 'formally' structured discussion. Not a just a conversation back-and-forth.

Topic: Are humans designed to consume meat?

I will argue the con viewpoint. Meaning, I will argue that humans were not biologically designed to consume meat.

I will ask that any arguments relating to the morality of eating meat be disregarded. This is not an ethics debate but rather scientific/evolutionary.

1. The first round is for acceptance.
2. A forfeit or concession is not allowed.
3. No semantics, trolling, or lawyering.
4. Debate resolution, definitions, rules, and structure cannot be changed without asking in the comments before you post your round 1 argument. Debate resolution, definitions, rules, and structure cannot be changed from all moments after the debate has been formalized.

Voters, in the case of the breaking of any of these rules by either debater, all seven points in voting should be given to the other person.

Debate Structure:

Round 1: Acceptance
Round 2: Presenting all arguments (no rebuttals by con)
Round 3: Refutation of opponent's arguments (no new arguments)
Round 4: Defending your original arguments and conclusion (no new arguments) (Why you won)

Human- a human being, esp. a person as distinguished from an animal

Consume- eat, drink, or ingest

Meat- the flesh of an animal

EDIT: Per questions in the comments;

'Designed' can be interpreted by 'pro.' Meaning, pro can decide if they will argue the root design of human or if they will argue a evolved understanding of the human condition. (This doesn't mean I will limit my arguments around only one or the other)

Also similarly, 'human' can be modern humans or an earlier form of homo sapiens. (Just not primates)

Any questions, please ask in the comments before hitching on. And any suggestions of an edit to make a better debate are welcomed.

I will be arguing that the modern human body is designed to eat meat.

Also I would prefer if no creationism was brought in to the debate.

Good luck.

Oh goodie another forfeit. I dont feel like wasting time on a forfeit so Ill make one argument.

I dont think humans are carnivores, but I dont think we are herbivores.

First human stomachs make hydrochloric acid. Which is not found in herbivores.

Humans have one stomach something many herbivores do not.

Our pancreas makes a variety of enzymes that included some for breaking down meat.

Now we see if my opponent comes back.

As far as designed and type of 'human', you can interrupt that as you want. You could argue that evolution as changed our root design or you could argue that we've always been 'designed' to consume meat. And you can choose modern 'human' or earlier homo sapiens.

I very much expect this to be a debate about the concepts of evolution and our role as the 'top of the food chain.' This does cause my side to be harder but I am more interested in using this as a learning experience and do not intend to just choose a easily 'winnable' topic for me.

So, in your opening statements, I leave it to pro to set their timeline and ideology of 'design.'

Hope that helps.

When you say designed do mean how we have evolved or something else?
Also what humans do you want to debate the first homo sapians or now?
