I am arguing pro-economic burden.

Illegal immigrants are an economic burden on the United States because they are damaging America more than they are benefiting the USA. They take jobs away from legal American residents and receive tens of billions of dollars worth of free education, health care, ect. As a result, they are causing already hard working, taxpaying Americans more financial troubles than necessary in our already struggling economy.

Actually, what your saying may be true. But usually illegal immigrants take jobs Americans DO NOT want. They also pay taxes. Usually they are Americans (at least in their hearts and minds). What, deport hard working immigrants who came here to look for a job- usually unskilled labor. Americans may not want this job. The only jobs they are stealing are unskilled jobs.
We are also a nation of refuge. If the immigrants are escaping political oppression or basic human rights infringement, the United States is made for that.
According to a book I read "Immigration"
Crime crime. They show that only 20 percent of criminals are immigrants. The others are native born.

Mostly the lowest jobs here are better than the ones at their homeland.

Also, many immigrants when close to retirement, go back to their homeland and do not claim medicare benefits.

While it may extra cost money to handle illegal immigrants, they also give us a lot of revenue.

Many immigrants have children. Do you want to separate them? These people are trying to survive in America. Their homeland would barely provide them anything.

First round of why we should give immigrants a path to citizenship.

I am almost tempted to take this just off the premise of the resolution. Saying they take jobs away from "legal" Americans is true, but then you would have to agree that the money made is placed right back into the economy itself. Curious to see how you will defend the job stance. Most illegal immigrants will not or can not take jobs because of the backgrounds checks in place now. Some of they jobs they take, no American would want to do unless forced.

Also same could be argued from an education perspective. They are not decreasing the amount of legal Americans being educated, but being forced to pay for it themselves in a lot of circumstances which in turn benefits the economy.

Reasons for voting decision: Neither side was well argued; there were no sources at all, and each side did little more than make contrary assertions. What you did here is not debating, people. Establish your facts, and argue from them. Pro's forfeit hands this to Con.
