I think its obvious today that kids are not learning nearly enough about whales. Its obvious that the education system should appropriate at least 50% of their budget to a strict instructional diet on whales, whale biology, whale music, whale philosophy etc. I just asked my friends 7 year old sister about whales and she new almost nothing.... pathetic.

I thank Crackrocks for instigating this very interesting challenge. I didn't realize when I accepted that this debate only had one round, but that's okay. Being Pro, I will show that kids are in fact learning all they need to learn about whales. My opponent can't refute my argument since it is a one round debate but setting the number of rounds is the responsibilty of the instigator.

Definitions
Since my opponent neglected to provide definitions, he automatically gives me the opportunity to do so.
Whale: A fat or obese lady, often seen in wal-mart yelling at her kids [1]. Source [3] shows a picture of a whale lounging on the beach after she finished shopping [3].

Rebuttals
I will address Con's only contention that high school kids aren't learning enough about whales which was that a 7 year old knew nothing about whales. This contention can easily be refuted because there is no reason why a seven year old should know about whales as defined in the definition. 26% or more than a quarter of Americans are obese [2]. When children learn about the existence of whales, they may be fascinated by them and may want to be like a whale.

However, this is not a desirable scenario as obesity causes type II diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and disability [2]. Therefore, my argument is that children are learning more than they need to learn about whales just by visiting Walmart and do not need to learn any more.

Arguments
My opponent wants the educational system to give 50% of its budget to whales. However, that is a extremely unfair to donkeys. Donkeys can be defined as "a bad poker player who doesn't know that he is bad." Donkeys have since many centuries helped humans carry loads and they deserve a place in human history. [2]

It is also unfair to pigs. Pigs are defined as " Pink thing that rolls around in mud and eventually becomes a ham sandwich" [5]. Pigs are known to have a great relationship with humans [1]. They are commonly raised for meat such as pork, ham, pepperoni, bacon, and sausage. They are also used for making leather.

Finally, it would be unfair for my opponent's friend's sister to learn more about whales than any other person or animal because all animals must be equally important and whales must not be given preference.

Conclusion
Having high school students learn more about whales will not only increase obesity and cause health risks but is also highly discriminatory to others. I will end with a qoute from President Barack Obama which calls for ending discrimination in the United States: "There is not a Whale America and a Pig America and Donkey America and Cow America -- there’s the United States of America" [6].

Crackrocks, it was a pleasure debating with you, voters Vote Pro!

Also, this type of knowledge may prove the existence of God. Who knows? Anyhow, this is a funny debate, thought it merits a serious, professional discussion.

Pro, I hope you're taking the devils advocate, we all know that whale-knowledge is crucial to survival and eternal bliss.

Reasons for voting decision: This ties "France is irrelevant" as the funniest resolution I've seen on this site. Anyway, Con presents no case. Full Pro ballot is earned.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct for F-16 for finally letting us know more about whales. 7 year olds shouldn't know about whales unless they have a strong affinity for them. However, other kids do know about whales and are quite adept at spotting them.

Reasons for voting decision: This was closer to the ignorant whining of a teenaged girl than an intellectual debate. Unlike Con, Pro actually argued and used sources, giving him the sources and arg. points. Conduct to Pro for proving that he's not an idiot (same can't be said for Con) SG to Pro because Pro has an awesome username, and Con doesn't. Seriously, what the hell does crackrocks even mean? Oh and Con had awful grammar.
