Live action role play games can make players blur the line between reality and the game, it might lead to violence in their future, and can ruin many friendships and relationships.

Hmm.. That's interesting. Since the 'game' is Live-action, there should be no reason for a player to "blur the line between the reality and the game". It's not like they are sitting in front of a screen, watching realistic bodies being torn apart. Besides, aren't there different types of LARPs such as "free-form", "game-like puzzles" and "arthaus events"? Not every LARP is about battling one another in a 'duel to the death'.

Foam weapons are preferred when dueling or battling, yes? I would assume that people who participate are not looking for blood---even if they have to stay "in-character". (While dueling, participants still use caution/safety so that no one gets hurt.) People who engage in these type of events are there to be entertained, have fun, and are unfazed by the so-called 'violence'.

One more thing... Players can participate in these games with their friends, which, in the end, might make the player's relationship with their friend(s) increase!

Provided nobody gets King Arthurs' sword in their eye I see no reason for alarum. Will we take to the streets with live ammunition and sharpened swords to take down the dastardly villains? I think not.
