They are a disgrace for a TV show.... A waist of time and a bad influence!

Teen pregnancy shows are not a bad influence. They show teens the consequences of getting pregnant at a young age, in turn discouraging them from having sex. Studies show that teen pregnancy has decreased since teen pregnancy shows have been aired.

Although MTVs intention may have been good it is not, istead it makes it seem as if it is alright to get pregnant at a young age.

First off, did you see my source? It doesn't state MTV's intention, it states the result. Secondly, your second link has a section on page 24 called "Lessons Learned" that quotes many teens who say stuff like "use a condom" and "Get your stuff straight and become an adult first." Check your sources.

Either way, why put this nonsense on tv? Children are taught throughout, and or by thier parents. And even if the child does not listen, we learn by our mistakes.

My opinion is that teen pregnancy shows are not a bad influence to the majority of teenagers, as studies have shown that teen pregnancy has decreased do to these shows and very few people are shown to actually be negatively affected by this form of media.
