Okey... So, I want to discuss about this one, Are the reality shows, really scripted?
There is something about Reality TV shows
that makes them an INSTANT HIT among
couch potatoes. Channel experts claim it is
a GREED for reality programming which
gives viewers, specially the Young and the
Restless"a "REAL" slice of life. Ask them to
watch a show that"s fictionalised, and the
TRPs would DROP like the sensex on the
downturn. From a see-it-all peek into the
fights of roommates at "Big Boss" to the
drama unfolding at "Rakhi Ka Insaaf" or the
FEVERISH pitch of "Kaun Banega
Crorepati", the blockbuster TV quiz
anchored by superstar Amitabh Bachchan,
reality television has thrown ordinary
people into the limelight. Conversely, it
has brought stars in touch with the real
world.
Reality TV allows PEEPING Toms the thrill
of watching live and often un-edited action
on the small screen. While some of these
reality programmes are talent hunts, there
are those which are celebrity shows, or a
plain "dekho" into ordinary people"s
psyches. In fact, "the aam aadmi on
television" is an instant hit simply because
viewers can identify with the common man
and get a feel-good high.
When Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was still dancing
on "Dancing with the Stars," he said in a Facebook post:
"The producers play games to get viewers and don"t
disclose the (voting) numbers. If they disclosed the
numbers, it would be less of a game, but still suspect. If
tomorrow, they claim I"m in the bottom 2 dance teams,
including viewer votes, I believe that"s an outright lie."
So, the question arises again,"Are the reality shows really scripted?"
My take on this, is yes.. They are....
Anyone who feels that they are not, and can prove this, is invited to take up this challange.
Looking forward for my opponent's views.

I do not think reality shows are in fact real. Reality TV shows such as Dance Moms and The Bachelorette/Bachelor both depend on suspense and drama to make sure they get more viewers and make more money. Why don't we start with Dance Moms? Me being acquainted with a dancer myself and coming to watch many of their classes and recitals, a dance studio is not the place where drama and heated arguments are common. Children go there to learn dance and the instructor almost always has the common sense to not lash out at the children because doing so may have the child and his/her parents considering going to a new dance instructor which means less income for the original dance instructor. Next, The Bachelorette/ Bachelor. Almost all of the marriages that come from The Bachelorette/ Bachelor end up failing. And the fact that the people on the show would rather make the difficult choice of choosing one man/woman they love out of the other 24 contestants and almost being forced by society to have to marry that man/woman rather than go on a dating website or meet someone in person without all the pressure of having to choose between 25 possible partners makes the show that less believable. I find it hard to believe that someone would volunteer to be on a show where they are put through stress, ridicule, sadness, heartbreak, and so many other negative feelings; leading me to believe that Reality TV shows are scripted and more hoax than reality.
