Round 1 acceptance and intro

In round 2 and 3 i will bring up points and you will rebut them.

Inrto to what i think

What in the world have we done to our kids? If you spend much time with them, you quickly realize that the next generation of Americans is woefully unprepared to deal with the real world. They are overweight, lazy, undisciplined, disrespectful, disobedient to their parents, selfish, self-centered, and completely addicted to entertainment. And that is just for starters. We feed them insane amounts of sugar and high fructose corn syrup and then when they become overactive we pump them full of prescription drugs to calm them down. Instead of raising our children ourselves, we allow the government schools and the entertainment industry to do it. By the time they reach the age of 18, they have spent far more time with their teachers, their video games and the television than they have spent with us.

I accept the challenge.

As this debate is has no debatable topic, I shall use this round to make one.
'The Parents of America have messed up the lives of their children.'

Definitions:
Parent: a father or a mother. [1]
America: USA
messed up: ruined. [2]
Children: The parents offspring. [3]

I look forward to my opponents opening arguments.

Ok, well, we dont have any material coming from Pro because of his forfeit.

Here is my case that I wil represent in this debate.
Parents are not doing a horrible job of raising kids, the standard has not shifted noticably as of late.
My opponent points out obesity and injustly links that to poor parenting. Since it wasn't an actual argument, Ill be polite and let him properly dress it up. Along with the rest of his soon-to-be arguments.

Considering that I am representing the negative side to the resolution, I will wait for the next round for the affirmative side to present his case and start the debate. If not, I'll present my own arguments in the hope that he will respond.

Well, heres what I think, parents have not changed in relation to how they are raising thir kids. of course, parenting changes slightly as technology progresses, but this change can be called an adaption, not a change for the worse. The negative influences that my opponent would have refered to had he survived long enough, are that of the internet, which is a completely new debate altogether. We in this debate however are working from the assumption that kids are being influenced or brought up badly, so I blame the internet and recent advances in technology for this. Of course, Im not going to waste my time supporting these claims because I doubt my oppoents cold body will be able to say anything from within his coffin.

I would like to conclude this debate on the source of all corruption:

Vote Con.
