Artemis1

Pro

Atheism has been rising steadily in not only the United States, but in other countries around the globe as well. Polls suggest that in the US, Christianity is slowly becoming a less popular religion, losing roughly 1% of its followers a year. At the same time, the percent of people in the US that are atheism has and is rising.

That link suggests that from 2007 to 2014, unaffiliated Americans have risen 7% in that time frame.

Con

7 points to Pro. Reasons for voting decision: Instigator has defended his point more.

[*Reason for removal*] Obvious votebomb. Voter voted the side that forfeited in full.

First, something needs to be cleared up. Many people like to call people who believe the Holy Bible "religious" people. Any one who has actually read it should be able to tell you that religion is a bad thing. It is only mentioned 7 times in the Holy Bible, and 6 of those mentions has religion as being a bad thing. The other time it is mentioned it specifically describes that only pure religion that is undefiled can be good. There is currently no such thing as "pure religion" on this world.

Back to the main topic. The fact that more and more people are becoming atheists validates the Holy Bible. The more you fight to disprove it's words the more you confirm what it says.

Reasons for voting decision: Forfeits by Pro, so conduct to Con. Pro's entire arguments was based on the rising number of Atheists, but Con refuted this by saying that the majority of humans are theists, so the rising number means nothing unless it gains prevalence, Pro forfeited the rest of the debate and dropped this argument, so arguments to Con. Pro was the only one to use source.
