Then where do they come from? India? |

Then where do they come from? India? Since most atheists are secular humanists I will focus on that. This is what wikipedia says about the origin of their morals: Many Humanists derive their moral codes from a philosophy of utilitarianism, ethical naturalism or evolutionary ethics, and some advocate a science of morality. Morlas, if decided by a human, wouldn't be morals, because if every human decided his own morals, the evil humans would go around killing people and it would be ok. |

MORALS: a person's standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do. Morlas, if decided by a human, wouldn't be morals, because if every human decided his own morals, the evil humans would go around killing people and it would be ok. You're argument is invalid because the definition of morals makes it personal. While it's unappealing those evil people are acting according to their moral; what they believe is acceptable and unacceptable. However much of society does have similar morals; which actually goes against the idea that morals come from God because no matter what God a person has they all get very similar morals even though "there is only one true God that gives morals."So atheists CAN have morals. Do you not understand if atheiss made the morals the world would go to trash? The truth is, Atheists are atheists because they dont want to follow religious law i.e. MORALS |

It doesn't matter what the morals do to the world it just matters that they are morals. Also secular humanists seem to have pretty good morals and secular humanists are atheists. The truth is, Atheists are atheists because they dont want to follow religious law i.e. MORALS Religious laws aren't morals. Also if you ask any atheist they will tell you they are an atheist because they don't believe God exists. CONCLUSION I have proved with secular humanism that atheists do have morals that even theists would consider moralistic. In this debate Con has not made a single valid argument, instead talking about what would happen if atheists made morals which isn't even relevant. Atheists, cant have morals, if they did, they wouldn't be Atheists! Humanists believe HUMANS are the top being, if they are, they cant have morals, because if you had morals you would be able to accept a higher being. I rest my case |

Reasons for voting decision: An Atheist is just like any other Human Being only they believe in no higher being and just for that does not make them have any less morals.

Reasons for voting decision: Con doesn't seem to understand the (provided) definition of morals. They focused mainly on how bad the world would be if everyone had their own morals, but didn't actually try to disprove that atheists have morals, just that they don't agree with them.
