In August of 1945, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on two different Japanese cities. The use of these weapons has been debated since that time. Was the use of atomic bombs in Japan justified or not? Use evidence from the text to support your claim and argument.

America was justified in the atomic bombing of Japan. Most people don't know this, but America literally airdropped pamphlets into Japan saying they were going to bomb them in the next few days, and for them to get out. After the pamphlets were dropped, the Japanese government would punish anyone found with these pamphlets, prompting most people to not leave.

In 1945, the U.S dropped the ultimate wrecking ball, also known as The Atomic Bomb, whose destroyed anything and everything in its path. This fatal and utterly pointless atomic bomb not only destroyed the Japanese cites of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but also took the live of millions of people. Sadly, the atomic bomb have proven to be entirely unjustifiable. The U.S technology surperior to Japan's, wrongfully kick Japan when they was already down, and used them as "test dummies." At the time, Japan was underdeveloped and sicking to it's own self. During 1936-1937, Japanese army entered the city of Nanking, in which they perform numerous of rapes and killings also known as The Rape of Nanking. The atomic bombs only added to the horrifying and depressing life the Japanese people faced. The two atomic bombs were more that enough to dismantle Japan, in which some people believe the U.S wanted to see the great power of the bombs, and Japan was a good test. Nevertheless, the U.S could have seek another way to impact Japan, without such extreme measures. Therefore, the atomic bombs are unjustified, and it is horribly selfish of the U.S to implement such actions.

Dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was unjustifiable because it resulted in the deaths of many Japanese civilians who were not involved in the war.

Although the U.S. believes that they were defending the lives of the people, they completely destroyed the many lives of innocent citizens in Japan. The U.S. is a very developed country and, around this time, Japan's defenses were nearly demolished. The atomic bomb was used to avenge the United States' casualties. Japan also had no allies so they were ultimately defenseless against the United States.

The US was justified in dropping the atomic bombs in japan. It was an easier way of ending the war and preventing more casualties happening. This immediately ended the war which was what they wanted.

The US was justified in dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, they didn"t give up when they ran out of guns and ammo so they started to use a kamikaze strategy and ramming their planes into the U.S. planes. By using the bomb they U.S. avoided causing more americans death trying to invade japan. According to document 3 there was a assembly stating that you can't intentionally bomb civilians and objectives aimed at in the air must be identified as a military object.

I think that the dropping of the two atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, were not right. the reason why this is because Japan had no allies, Its navy was nearly destroyed, and Japans cities were undergoing a concentrated air strikes. Plus Japan was in need of resources.

THIS IS AGAINST THE ATOMIC BOMBS USED ON HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI JAPAN

The US was not justified in dropping atomic bombs on Japan. The first atomic bomb killed approximately 135,000 Japanese civilians. The second atomic bomb killed around 74,000. According to Roy on Debate.org, he states, "Japan had no allies, its navy was almost destroyed; its islands were under a naval blockade; and its cities were undergoing concentrated air attacks." This was very true. Many children and women were killed or burned to death. The radiation of the atomic bombs were so powerful that many people in Japan are still affected from it today. Lots of children have deformities and this could have all been avoided if the US just fire bombed one of Japan's ships. To conclude, Japan lost many lives that day because of the US. Therefore, they are not justified.
