You didn't post any arguments so I won't either. I will rather post reasons why this debate is ridiculous and should result in an automamtic vote against CON.

1. This is not a homework help site. Most of us go to school, have homework of our own but don't go around littering the site with random questions.

If you need help with homework try this site. answers.yahoo.com/

2. At the least you could make an attempt to make a few arguments which then I could respond and introduce some arguments of my own.

Federation refers to the decision by the states and territories to be self governing i.e. states govern themselves and then a larger over arching government. The head of state is still the current ruler of England and her representative in Australia is the Govenor General (Constitutional Monarchy). Much like in England, the elected PM and associated party are the 'active' elected people's representative. However unlike the United States, the elected PM is not the 'ruler' of the country. The Queen is considered a part of the Parliament and is a source of executive power (in name at least). Justice in the law courts is administered in the name of the Queen. Parliamentarians swear an oath of alleigance to the Queen and additionally defence forces swear to serve the Queen.

"The term is informal, having no legal or official status."

So... why is it not a republic again?

Not, wholly, Rezzealaux. Australia is a Federation, and still a member of the Commonwealth.

Isn't Australia already a republic?
