A playoff system is best suited for the NCAA football championship. There is almost always a surprise team in one of the BCS games, and there are frequently upsets. There can be a team who does not make it to the championship game who is truly the best team. If the BCS took the polls out of its formula, it would be more likely to get it right. Writers have biases and those biases show strongly in the polls. If we are to leave something held so high in society to the BCS, we should get rid of it.

"In 2007, pursuant to a legally-binding contract, all 119 FBS universities chose the BCS as its sanctioned selecting organization." (http://en.wikipedia.org...)
Colleges are currently legally bound to use BCS. It would be illegal to abolish it.
Removing polls from BCS would be good. However, that is different from abolishing it.
Abolish - Destroyed (http://www.merriam-webster.com...)
I think that it should be edited, but not abolished.

When FOX's contract runs out, the colleges will vote again and a playoff system would be best for the NCAA. From the fiscal standpoint it would be better because the most recent playoff plan seriously shopped to major football-playing schools would have grossed nearly $376 million a year, more than double current bowl payouts. This money could go to so many different things in this schools instead of making multi-million dollar budget cuts.

My opponent has no sources to back up his fiscal claim, which is his only claim.
Furthermore, there is also the college student issue. There is only one weekend that is suitable for college students to watch football within the time period, because colleges don't want big football games going on during midterms, for both the players and the spectators.
Furthermore, the contract will not run out by the end of this debate, so it must be assumed to be in effect, making abolition illegal. Thank yo

Sorry about not leaving any sources, this is my first debate and had no idea what to do. After I posted my next argument, I decided to see how debates were conducted here and realized that I totally blew it. I might as well just forfeit this debate seeing as my opponent clearly defeated me.

Alright, then. This debate is over.

Vote CON.

In the future, I suggest that you extend the character limit to the standard 8,000 characters.

The fact that people will vote like this when a person forfeited sickens me.

Why did the character limit have to be 500 characters? That is really, really small.
