I think that a general election between Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain would be one of the greatest campaigns in the history of the United States. I think that it would be one that focuses on the issues at hand; keeping away from the Bush, Clinton politics of the 1990's. I selected four rounds so that I may present my challenge in this the first round. The subsequent three rounds shall be the debate.

I am proposing that we debate in favor of our candidates with one another. Let's discuss them on their merits, and not on any sort of politically skewed, grand guignol version of the election to come.

Hello

First off, a Obama McCain race would be one of, if not, the best political races ever (I would only like if I knew McCain would win). Let me get this straight, we take the place of our candidates and argue for them, as a mini campaign. If this is correct, just start the debate with the issues I provided. I can see this debate going longer than expected. These are some issues that I found that they were different and/or will be apart of the race-

1)Health care (B.O. pro J.M. con)
2)Iraq
3)Abortion
4)Letting the Illegals stay
5)Experience

That's good, if you have anymore please add. Lets keep our arguments brief, not long ones (in terms of each topic).

If this is correct, continue the debate as is, if it isn't explain it to me, then continue.

If I'm wrong on any of Obama's issues, please correct me I'm not familiar with him.

FiredUpRepublican, Barack Obama served on the Illinois state senate from 1997-2004. Please stop propagating false information to change people's political opinions. Honestly I've never seen anything you've posted on this site that wasn't ridiculous or misinformed.

Clay Trainor, you know that you spouted of affective terminology that can't really be addressed by a legitimate argument. But even aside from that, Hillary has repeatedly said that she wants increase diplomacy with Iran, not bomb them. She also co-sponsored a bill to prohibit money going towards military operations in Iran without the approval of congress. She has never said she "wants to bomb Iran".
And Obama has never been for the Iraq war. The day the resolution was agreed on he was giving a speech at an anti-Iraq War rally in Chicago. Also, anything he has said about military action in Pakistan has been involving the tracking and capture and/or killing of terrorists being harbored in that country. Not a war with Pakistan's government as your comment implied.

Obama, Mccain, Hillary... sigh

Are these seriously the only choices the media is giving us now?

Mccain = War monger, wants war with iran which means america would fall into the NAU within 5 years.

Hillary = Massive socialist plans, not against war in iraq, wants to bomb iran.

Obama = Great speech giver, but a huge liar. Says he's anti-war, but he just wants to move the iraq war into pakistan. He voted for the patriot act and funding of the iraq war yet stands so strongly against it.

Obama puts as much fear into me as saddam hussein did... i will not trust that man as president i just wish there was a serious contender to get America out of this mess.

Unlike Senator Clinton, Obama's plan does not make people worse off for not having health insurance. Under Hillary's plan, if I don't buy health insurance (which may be for religious or philosophical or even medical reasons) you get FINED!!!!!

Obama want to move market forces so insurance is affordable to everyone by cutting out customer discrimination among other factors. People don't normally not buy insurance b/c they don't want it. Normally they cannot afford it.

Money for universal health care isn't going to come from some magical place. Our best bet is to lower costs. Neither candidate does this perfectly but at least Obama does not fine sick people who cannot pay.

"1)Health care (B.O. pro J.M. con)"

Are you joking? Obama has a privatized plan and he wants to privatize social security. The man just wants to look good saying "I am for Universal Health Care". Rather than "I stole Hillary's plan (who stole hers from John Edwards) and just made it a bit more to the right".

Probably best not to use Obama's initials. Otherwise, people will start thinking your crazy when you start talking about the presidential candidate, body odor.

Body odor for presdent!
