Where to start? Since 1940, Batman has been a huge hit and known world-wide. Yes, Superman was indeed there before Batman existed, and was thriving over Batman for a short time. But after a while, Superman comics became like soap operas, mostly relationship problems and other minor problems, with the occasional bad guy or catastrophe. In every Batman comic, they are filled with action, problem solving, and content fans can enjoy over. Superman, yes, has experienced the same kind of situation. But after a while, many people began to realise how overpowered Superman actually is. He becomes a prediction. 'Oh, superman must win this fight because he's basically invincible, unless we have some green rock and kill him with that.'
For example, if Batman and Superman were being held hostage. Batman would come up with a strategic strategy to escape, and entertain the readers while doing so. However, Superman would be no fun as he would break free of his resistance and escape, like cheating.
Batman is smarter than Superman. Easy.
Superman has x-ray vision. Batman can access the Detective Vision in his cowl to display heat signatures, much more exciting.
Superman has super-strength. Batman is still pretty damn strong. Plus kryptonite = well, obliteration.
Freeze Breath? Cyro dispensers, more like.
So in all different shapes and forms, Batman is still more entertaining and more realistic than Superman will ever be. Plus he has a car.

Batman is pretty good, I must admit! I like him a lot. but I like Superman more, because Batman is a little reckless and isn't the true, honest, moral defender of justice like Superman is. Yes, Batman has a car, but Superman can fly. Can Batman fly? Technically, yes. He has planes and gliders and all that, but he isn't truly a flying being. OK, here, let me say this: Here's how I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna do a Venn Diagram of Superman vs. Batman.

Similarities:
They both fly. (Sort of.)
They both are superheroes. (Sort of.)
They both have a staple villain.
They both wear suits.
They are fighting each other in 2016. (It's gonna be pretty dumb.)
They both typically stay in one city. (Superman has Metropolis, Batman, Gotham.)

Batman Traits:
Batman relies on gadgets and plans.
Batman uses vehicles to transport himself.
Batman is a human who exercises a lot.
Batman has Robin and Alfred.
Batman has a cave base and the Bat-Signal
(I could go on and on with this, but I need to stop.)

Superman Traits:
Superman relies on himself.
Superman Transports himself by himself.
Superman is an alien.
Superman has himself. That's it.
Superman has a house. And that's a con. You made me argue against myself! How could you!?!?

to greencanon, it is partially a mixture of both, so basically summarising the overall characters and comparing them.

I am willing to accept this debate, but i would like to know if the topic is that one is better than the other inside the comic world, or more popular and successful as a comic series?
