I think that Batman is the best superhero there is because of various reasons. Someone prove me wrong or alter my opinion. For those of you who think that Batman not the best superhero then I hope by the end of this debate that I have changed your opinion.

Batman certainly is not the best superhero. In fact, he is only one among a few other superheroes who does not posses a superpower. Bruce Wayne's affluence can not, in anyway whatsoever, compensate or even resemble a superpower. If one were trapped in a burning building, it is safe to postulate that a hero such as Superman or The Flash would save this trapped person much faster and much more effectively than Batman.

Im inclined to disagree. Batman uses the extent of the human mind as a superpower itself. To counter you saying that if someone was trapped in a burning building that someone like Superman or The Flash could save him faster Batman is a strategist and would do the maths quickly and save that person just as fast and more efficiently than Superman or The Flash could. Also Batman has stood and led with legends like Superman and Wonder Woman in the Justice League. He has the best villans as well. No superhero has foes as famous and Villanus as the Joker, Scarecrow or Two face. None of the other superheros villians are as interesting and better than the ones Batman is up against.

I would like to address the statement "to counter you saying that if someone was trapped in a burning building that someone like Superman or The Flash could save him faster Batman is a strategist and would do the maths quickly and save that person just as fast and more efficiently than Superman or The Flash could." Superman posses the power to move 4 times the speed of sound (http://www.comicvine.com...) and he is immune to almost all forms of harm and ailments (http://en.wikipedia.org...). Superman could be in and out of the building with the distraught person in his arms before they even knew what was going on. The Flash can move at the speed - according to the comic book- as fast as the speed of light. Measured in feet, that would be 983,000,000 feet per second (http://www.ask.com...). Batman, who is only a human, and therefore could not "save that person just as fast and more efficiently than Superman or The Flash could", as you stated.

You are unable to prove that "Batman is the best superhero ever" because it is an incredibly subjective question. Batman does not posses a superpower and therefore cannot match the superhuman abilities like "spidey sense", invincibility, flying, or moving at the speed of light (just to name a few great superpowers). Batman is just an human being, and does not posses a superpower; without his affluence or utility belt, he would not even be considered a superhero.

Although Batman can be referred to as a superhero, one cannot prove that he is the best superhero ever because it is just an opinion. However, examples of of superheroes that surpass Batman, are Superman (for reasons I just stated), The Flash (for reasons I just stated), and Spider man because he posses a multitude of superpowers that Batman does not (in fact, Batman does not posses any super powers).

In conclusion, it cannot be proven that Batman is the best superhero ever because it is subjective. However, facts provided to state a more convincing case is tangible. I have done this in my statements above.

I think he is a true 'superhero'.
He showed us that anyone can be a superhero and gave hope. He was just a person who was afraid of bat, but he overcame his fear and became a superhero who fight against evils.

Reasons for voting decision: FF. Pro's argument was weak, con's was actually pretty terrible... Arguing that Batman is not a superhero due to not having superpowers, backfires in the sense that superpowers (no risk to going into the burning building mentioned) decrease the amount someone is a hero; thus the more powerful (superman) has such a decreased risk factor that the word hero may need to be dropped (by the same standard has batman not getting the hero part, no matter how many times he's beaten Darkside).
