Con

we just post a youtube like (video square) of one national anthem we like, and the voters choose who had the best one!

No semantics or trolling with this debate, nothing like this:

http://www.debate.org...
http://www.debate.org...

we know what this debate means...

My first song, russians anthem:
TheBrorator

Pro

Challenge Accepted. I was born in Russia and now live here in the United States, so I know the Russian Anthem and USA by heart, the USA National Anthem is by far superior, in lyrics and tune.

Debate Round No. 1
TheBrorator

Pro

American.
Debate Round No. 2
Debate Round No. 3
Debate Round No. 4
TheBrorator

Pro

America

I would like to offer the following conclusion and voting issue:

1. Con states:

"we just post a youtube like (video square) of one national anthem we like, and the voters choose who had the best one! ... we know what this debate means..."

If we all know what this debate means, it wouldn't hurt but to elaborate.
"We just post 'a' youtube like (he means link) of one national anthem we like."

Clearly this means this debate will be between two national anthems. His choice was the Russian, mine was the American. However, throughout this debate Con has posted 5 different national anthems, not following his own, obvious, rule.

By saying we will post a youtube link, we are to assume this debate will be about only two anthems, because only one link will be posted for each debater. One debater picks on Anthem, and the other picks a different one. Then we would assume we back up our choices in the following rounds. However, Con has jumped all round the place. The final voting issue is the "best national anthem" if Con claims 5 national anthems to be the "best" this debate is flawed in his regard.

Pro, you lied in that comment :)

I would like to point out that I did not expect different anthems to be posted, as I argued in-case, I expected to post the youtube links in the first round and then argue why they are the best = not semantics.

Alright, there we go. I still have to stick to the conduct point just because Con specifically asked for no semantic arguments (obviously referring to the semantics of the debate). The debate was clearly just a fun exchange of songs.

However, your spelling was clearly better. I liked the Russia anthem.

Meant that last comment for you, ended up directing it to the other guy of that debate.

Please look up the definition of semantics before you accuse me of using them.

I hope you know that the source (youtube) is not a voter in this debate, we both used the same source.

How did I votebomb? I gave a valid reason why I voted against you. I just threw in that I called you would lose to the American National Anthem for the hell of it. It wasn't a VB.

@Ike

Just cause someone you hate used it means I abused it?

Reasons for voting decision: REVISED POST. While Con may have been somewhat vague, the very fact that there were multiple rounds would make the idea of a single national anthem redundant. Semantics were not allowed and Pro's obvious, exact definition of Con's words, in contrast to "common sense" might be an example. However, again, I will not be voting since the anthems presented both have highlights that I like.

Reasons for voting decision: While 16kadams abused USSR's anthem (-__-), the voting here is clearly nonsense. The terms of acceptance were "no semantics"....so Pro obviously realized that Con meant multiple anthems when Con changed his in Round 2. As a result I must grant arguments AND conduct to Con.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct because Pro tried to argue semantics. While I agree with Pro, I think it was understood what Con was getting at. Each round a person's favorite debate was posted. However, I did personally like Con's anthem best. And sources were even.

Reasons for voting decision: Con failed to emphasize the nature of the debate. From the typing of the resolution to the first round, I had no reason to believe this debate would involve several anthems. Pro smartly waited until the last round to say anything, because it was Con who was messing up. Con shouldn't have posted so many anthems. Because of this, PRO gets the auto victory and all 7 points. There was no semantics here. No play on words. It was not obvious what Con wanted, so the fault lies on CON for his loss.

Reasons for voting decision: Con won. It was obvious that the instigator was trying to communicate that you are supposed to post *different* anthems throughout the debate. Semantics = Loss of conduct too. Diverse, interesting anthems = Args to Con. Sources also go to con, as he used a different anthem.

Reasons for voting decision: It was over the best national anthem....Con provided more than one...and Pro provided one. As an American, the American national anthem is the best....and seeing how Pro was the only person to give any reason why we should vote for Pro...I'm inclined to vote for Pro....

Reasons for voting decision: I told you 16k. You would get beat by the American National Anthem. I so called it. And very clever argument from the pro. Not just pure semantics, it actually made sense.
