It has been prove that South Korea has the best education system in the world. They score the highest on standardized tests. http://www.weareteachers.com.... South Korean students have been shown to study the most out of any other country.http://worldtop20.org... Also, according to worldtop.org South Korea has the #1 educational system in the world while Finland has the 4th best educational system in the world. I don't know what my con is trying to get at since the stats prove that South Korea is number 1. Also South Korea scored highest on the international PISA test for 15 year olds around the world to take. South Korean kids have a motto of that education is the number 1 thing in the world even over there own family's. Education is highly valued all over south Korea if there children don't do well in school there whole entire family will suffer. South Korean schools give a lot more homework than the states. South Korean children study almost every day. In south Korea you start learning a language as soon as you start school. Which is English.

I am arguing that Finland has the best education system in the world, not South Korea.

(1) The Finnish education theory is that most learning comes from outside of the classroom, and intrinsic motivation and the pursuit of personal interest is of the upmost importance. Finnish school days are short, but filled with school sponsored extra curricular activities.
Despite the fun filled days, and the seemingly non existent academic rigor, every Finnish student is motivated to be the best they can be because they are surrounded by super powers, not including their country. Every student is bilungual, and the students who want to be the most successful can learn English or German, which are readily available in Finnish schools.

For Finnish students, the exams are limited, and students can even choose their matriculation exams. In South Korea, the education system is centered around exams, and nothing but exams. These students are being pressured so much to perform the best on EXAMS, that they are not focusing on the developing factors of a child, such as extra curricular activity and having fun.

In Finland, the teachers work, on average, 600 hours per year, while in the usa, teachers average 1,080 hours a year. While teachers are earn the 3rd highest pay in the world, they are often not feeling overworked, and find their job to be very fufulling and satisfying.

Thank you for the debate!

Education systems don't consist purely of students.
