Just think about it. Man lives 969 years, Noahs ark , Earth is old 6000 years etc.

Definition of FAKE
: one that is not what it purports to be:
: a worthless imitation passed off as genuine

: impostor, charlatan
c : a simulated movement in a sports contest (as a pretended kick, pass, or jump or a quick movement in one direction before going in another) designed to deceive an opponentd
: a device or apparatus used by a magician to achieve the illusion of magic in a trick(1)

My opponent does not explain how the bible is fake.

My opponent does not even explain how anything in the bible is factious.
He simply lists some phrases.

Thus my opponent has yet to make an argument.

Thus there is nothing to respond to yet.

My opponent has not made any arguments yet:

He has not explained why anything in the bible could not have happened.

Nor has he explained why it's fake.

So I'll just ramble a bit:

How did people live so long?

Well pro hasn't explained why a person could not live 1000's of years, but if he does:

1 of the popular answers given is the following:

Following the flood the earth changed dramatically. Including changes in the climate, composition of the atmosphere, hydrologic cycle, geologic features, cosmic radiation reaching the earth, ozone concentration, ultra violet light, background radiation, genetics, diet, and a host of other subtle and/or profound chemical and physiological changes. These changes caused a rapid decline of the longevity of humanity.

The Jewish historian Flavius Josephus writes the following about this subject:

"Now when Noah had lived three hundred and fifty years after the Flood, and that all that time happily, he died, having lived the number of nine hundred and fifty years. But let no one, upon comparing the lives of the ancients with our lives, and with the few years which we now live, think that what we have said of them is false; or make the shortness of our lives at present an argument, that neither did they attain to so long a duration of life, for those ancients were beloved of God, and [lately] made by God himself; and because their food was then fitter for the prolongation of life, might well live so great a number of years: and besides, God afforded them a longer time of life on account of their virtue, and the good use they made of it in astronomical and geometrical discoveries, which would not have afforded the time of foretelling [the periods of the stars] unless they had lived six hundred years; for the great year is completed in that interval.

"Now I have for witnesses to what I have said, all those that have written Antiquities, both among the Greeks and barbarians; for even Manetho, who wrote the Egyptian History, and Berosus, who collected the Chaldean Monuments, and Mochus, and Hestieus, and, besides these, Hieronymus the Egyptian . . besides these, Ephorus and Nicolaus relate that the ancients lived a thousand years." (Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 3)

Following the flood lifespan began shrinking, the rate of post flood lifespan decreased at a rate close to the exponential (natural) decay rate.

Some answer that in those days they were more careful with health.
Or had secrets that we don't have.

Some answer God made a miracle - how original.

Some answer that earth was perfect & man messed up the world with pollution. Then global warming started.. - & Yes I did just make that up.

Another answer is that the world was spinnig/moving near the speed of light, thus they aged slower. Today the earth has slowed down.

I'm out of space, so I'll turn it over to pro, to make some arguments.

garret, great use of the religious weapon of choice, the hair splitter :)

Lets say we have a list of all the gods that humans have believed in thruought time.

Next to each god there is a box to check "yes" or "no" for the ones you believe are real and the ones you believe are fairy tales.

After we both turn in our lists, there will be a 99.9% similarity. We will both check "no" on all of them, except you will have one "yes", just one.

So we are both atheist, I just went one god further!

You will say you are right because since the earth and all its creatures are so complex and diverse there had to be a creator.

However, when we take that logic and apply intellignce to it, here is what you are saying:

"The earth is so complex and diverse, it couldnt have just come from nothing, therefore, jesus is my savior"

"The laws of physics are so precise they had to be put in motion by a creator, therefore the reason for everything is admittedly jealous"

"Of all the planets in the universe, why is this the only one that is perfect for human life, so its obvious the earth was created by a being who uses human sacrifice to show love and forgiveness"

"Look in the sky, you can see millions and millions of stars and galaxies, they didnt just come from thin air, therefore the reason for all the stars and galaxies is concerned with what days you hold holy in its honor"

"Humans are so complex, look at the eyeball, our veins, everything is just right, so it makes perfect sense that life was created by a being who can convict you of thought crimes such as lust"

"Proof of a creator is all around us, look at the irreducible complexity of everything, that clearly shows that the reason for everything must be worshipped and obeyed or you get an eternity of punishment while those who did get on their knees and and suck him off watch you suffer"

That's a false dichotomy; government gives grants to scientists who are creationists.

Theres a reason hospitals hire surgeons instead of girl scout troop leaders.

Its the same reason the government gives research grants to scientists Not creationists :)

exactly, there's a difference between it being fictitious and it containing fictitiuous information.
in fact, even if christianity were true, we could very easily suspect, most probably even, that the bible would contain errors... errors are a part of life. we don't have to throw the baby out with the bath water.

i suspect you want to debate someone who thinks it's all inerrant, so i didn't take the debate, even though i could have.

Are you claiming that all of it is fictitious or that just some of it is fictitious?
