Also you may not have known this but the OKJV is not the oldest most 'original' translation. the RSV (revised standard version)is the earliest English translation. so if your thinking its oldness somehow makes it a more accurate translation then OKJV is not the most 'accurate' translation out there.

in the end they are all translations, just different people have sat down trying there best to do the difficult task of converting a Hebrew/Greek sentence into an English one with all its needed context. for purposes of Bible study its always worth looking at more than just the OKJV. I have even found one occasion where I'm pretty sure the more 'accurate' translation was with other versions than OKJV in the book of Exodus. the way the OKJV reads in Exodus 32 were arron made the golden calf and moses prayed for god to spare them that translation said god had an evil thought and repented of it. God does not have evil thoughts and he does not 'repent' of anything.

I generally stay away from getting too picky with translations myself. Why? because when you add a book to the bible you get mormonism, when you take the bible we have away you get quakerism, but you get JW's by taking only one translation. theres a such thing as biblioidolotry were you are worshiping the book and not the god spoken of in it.

sure, its only another forfeited debate added to all the ones on my debate list, but at least this time a explanation came first. I understand difficult time constraints around the holidays.

by king james version do you mean just OKJ version or both it and NKJV?
not that I anticipate specific versions making any difference between any verses that come up but still I'd like to know before hand.
