First of all I would like to thank whoever accepts this debate.

This is my own argument that I will be relying on later in this debate.

1. Big box marts employ those who are undereducated. Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, and other big box stores provide jobs to those who lack a high school diploma. However, most small businesses only employ those with high school diplomas or even an undergraduate degrees.

2. Big box marts provide low prices to consumers.

3. Big box marts are often one of the first organizations to offer help to a community after it has been hit by a disaster. Small businesses do not have the money or manpower to offer such help in a time of need.

"1. Big box marts employ those who are undereducated. Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, and other big box stores provide jobs to those who lack a high school diploma. However, most small businesses only employ those with high school diplomas or even an undergraduate degrees."

I think this is good because it opens up more jobs for people. Some people may not be able to get a high school diploma because they may had to drop out to support their families and Big box marts helps them support their family by offering them jobs.

"2. Big box marts provide low prices to consumers."

This is also good for the poor because some people can't afford the high prices of other smaller businesses.

"3. Big box marts are often one of the first organizations to offer help to a community after it has been hit by a disaster. Small businesses do not have the money or manpower to offer such help in a time of need."

Again, this is good because communities need as much help and support as they can get!

You really set yourself up for Round 1. Your arguments backfired against you, no offense.

What you fail to understand that I am con and the statement is "Big Box Stores harm local economies" and since I am con, then I do not agree with that statement. You are suppose to be listing reasons why "Big Box stores harm local economies"
