Despite all the negative media biotechnology receives, the fact of the matter is biotech allows for impoverished nations to receive proper nutrition at minimal cost. Biotech also allows for us produce many more crops without the use of pesticides or herbicides, simply by genetic alteration of the food. In this way, biotech companies like Monsanto are an invaluable asset to society today.

my opponent say.
' Bio tech also allows for us produce many more crops without the use of pesticides or herbicides, simply by genetic alteration of the food..."""
but if that's was the case then their business would not be wanted in the us.

I apologize. I completely forgot I had started this until it was too late. My apologies to the challenger.

Monsanto's Harvest of Fear
by Donald L. Barlett and James B. Steele May 2008 | Vanity Fair

Monsanto already dominates America's food chain with its genetically modified seeds. Now it has targeted milk production. Just as frightening as the corporation's tactics–ruthless legal battles against small farmers–is its decades-long history of toxic contamination.

He can't claim any of those cross-breeding benefits cause they're not unique to biotech companies.

Before taking the debate, I would want to clarify what the subject actually is. Is it biotechnology, or is it biotechnology companies like Monsanto?

I would also wonder what the definition of biotech is; are you referring specifically to the more controversial and recent practices of genetically-modified biological products? Or would your definition of biotech include even more arcane (and relatively uncontroversial) practices like cross-breeding?
