How can you possibly prove such a statement?
Debate Round No. 1

If you ask how I can prove it, how can you disprove it?

WHAT was the percentage of blacks voting for Obama- 90%; WHITES for Obama- roughly 50%. If this was like any other election, blacks and whites would have been split approx. 50-50. HOWEVER- well over 50% of blacks voted for Obama- a statistical anomaly. THEREFORE- Blacks overwhelmingly DID NOT vote for Obama because of his politics but because he is BLACK- THAT IS RACISM!!!
Bricheze

Con

I don't have to disprove it, I am con. You, on the other hand, are pro therefore you have to prove it.

Just because a certain amount of blacks voted for Obama, it does not mean you can know their reasoning behind it. That's like me saying, '70% of criminals that are in jail are men, that means most people in jail are rapists' it lacks any proof, logic, or knowledge.

1. No it isn't like saying that. Why else would blacks have voted so overwhelmingly voted for Obama?
Here is an article on it-

WHITE GUILT IS DEAD

By Tom Adkins

Look at my fellow conservatives! There they go, glumly shuffling along, depressed by the election aftermath. Not me. I'm virtually euphoric. Don't get me wrong. I'm not thrilled with America 's flirtation with neo socialism. But there's a massive silver lining in those magical clouds that lofted Barak Obama to the Presidency. For today, without a shred of intellectually legitimate opposition, I can loudly proclaim to America : The Era of White Guilt is over.

This seemingly impossible event occurred because the vast majority of white Americans didn't give a fluff about skin color, and enthusias tically pulled the voting lever for a black man. Not just any black man. A very liberal black man. Therefore, as of Nov 4th, 2008, white guilt is dead.

For over a century, the millstone of white guilt hung around our necks, retribution for slave-o! wning p redecessors. In the 60s, American liberals began yanking that millstone while sticking a fork in the eye of black Americans, exacerbating the racial divide to extort a socialist solution. But if a black man can become Presid ent, exactly what significant barrier is left? The election of Barak Obama absolutely destroys the entire validation of liberal white guilt. The dragon is hereby slain.

So today, I'm feeling a little "uppity," if you will. From this day forward, my tolerance level for having my skin color hustled is now exactly ZERO. And it's time to clean house. No more Reverend Wright's "God Damn America ," Al Sharpton's Church of Perpetual Victimization , or Jesse Jackson's rainbow racism. Cornell West? You're a fraud. Go home. All those "black studies" programs that taught kids to hate whitey? You must now thank Whitey. And I want that on the final.

Congressional Black Caucus? Irrelevant. Maxine Waters? Shut up. ACORN? Outlawed. Black Panthers? Go hom! e and p et your kitty. Black separatists? Find another nation that offers better dreams. Go ahead. I'm waiting.

Gangsta rappers? Start praising America . Begin with the Pledge of Allegiance. And please no more ebonics. Speak English, and who knows where you might end up? Oh yeah, pull up your pants. Your underwear is showing. You look stupid.

To those Eurosnots who forged entire careers hating America ? I'm still waiting for the first black French President.

And let me offer an equal opportunity whupping. I've always despised lazy white people. Now, I can talk smack about lazy black people. You're poor because you quit school, did drugs, had three kids with three different fathers, and refuse to work. So when you p lop your Colt 45-swilling, Oprah watchin' butt on the couch and complain "Da Man is keepin' me down," allow me to inform you: Da Man is now black. You have no excuses.

No more quotas. No more handouts. No more stealing my money because so! meone's great-great-great-great grandparents suffered actual pain and misery at the hands of people I have no relation to, and personally revile.

It's time to toss that massive, obsolete race-hustle machine upon the heap of the other stupid 60s ideas. Drag it over there, by wife swapping, next to dope-smoking. Plenty of room right between free love and cop-killing. Careful, don't trip on streaking. There ya go, don't be gentle. Just dump it. Wash your hands. It's filthy.

In fact, Obama's ascension created a gargantuan irony. How can you sell class envy and American unfairness when you and your black wife went to Ivy League schools, got high-paying jobs, became millionaires, bought a mansion, and got elected President? How unfair is that??? Now, Like a delicious O'Henry tale, Obama's spread-the-wealth campaign rendered itself moot by it's own victory! America is officially a meritocracy. Obama's election has validated American conservatism!

So, listen carefully, wham!!!
That's the sound of my foot kicking the door shut on the era of white guilt. The rites have been muttered, the carcass lowered, dirt shoveled, and tombstone erected. White guilt is dead and buried.

However, despite my glee, there's apparently one sma ll, rabid bastion of American racism remaining. Black Americans voted 96% for Barak Obama. Hmmm. In a color-blind world, shouldn't that be 50-50? Tonight, every black person should ask forgiveness for their apparent racism and prejudice towards white people. Maybe it's time to start spreading the guilt around.

You can not prove it isn't a coincidence that the race of the candidate effected the amount of blacks whom voted for him. Since Obama got the majority of the popular vote, it just proves that it was even more likely that everyone, including african americans, voted for Obama more so then McCain.

By that logic, whites must be racist in that sense too. Because up till now, all whites have always voted majority for white presidents.

In fact, your just proving that whites are more racist then blacks, by saying that blacks are more racist then whites.

My point is this: You can not prove that blacks are more racist then whites. And you can not prove that it wasn't a simple coincidence that blacks voted for Obama.

XYLOSMA- i would like to quote you twice xylosma. "whoever the PRO is, they are completely idiotic."
and lets also not forget "the pro is also an idiot for using a conservitive article as his source".... two times you insult the pro about his intellegence. but then you dont stop there... you go on to make fun of his age "Lastly, your 14, I suggest sticking to a topic you actually know something about, like pokemon." that, whether you intended it to or not, was all offensive. and i am sure that it was intended. And because he used an article to support his statements, just made it better.

BRICHEZE- is this how you gain your fans? by telling them to shut up? i understand you are angry with how you are losing, but you shouldn't go on to criticize. you have no clue about my voting motives, and i did actually read the debate. lets not be prideful here.

"point proven, you live here but don't acknowledge American culture but I have to acknowledge yours in my country."
-You never made a point, you made an ignorant statement. I acknowlege that you call yourself an American. What's so hard about that? I don't ask you to call me Puerto Rican. I don't ask you to call me anything. I haven't asked you your opinion at all. What do I care what you think I should call myself? Who the hell are you anyways???

I haven't asked you for anything at all. You don't have to acknowledge anything. You don't know me, and I don't know you. I live here and have every right to. If you don't like it, speak to your congressman and have him write up a law banning all peoples who do not identify themselves as American from partaking in the benefits of it's citizenry. I will help you fight for that, as it would probably lead to my country being declared an independent nation. At this point my country is a commonwealth of the United States, and so I am a US citizen like it or not. You have every right to vote on this issue, but wouldn't even bother if it came up. If you're so upset about it do something about it. Don't sit at home behind your computer feeling all powerful and patriotic as if you have something to say because your ignorance in no way affects my life, my liberty, my citizenship, or my right to identify myself how I wish.

By the way- you've never been to Ireland. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and I joined the US Army right out of high school at Ft. Buchanan in Puerto Rico. I speak fluently both English and Spanish. My entire family is Puerto Rican, and the majority were born and raised there as well. It is my culture, my heritage, and my patriotism is to my country. I have never claimed to be an American and never will. I live here, and have every right to do so. I am a very productive member of society, I pay my taxes, serve my country of citizenship, I vote, and I have no shame at all in calling myself Puerto Rican over anything else.

Peace.

It would seem you are no more than a flag waving hypocrite. My ancestors helped discover America and colonized it so that yours can arrive at Ellis Island and be accepted with open arms. I have nothing against people calling themselves American, being proud of it, and waving flags in honor of this country, but you have no right whatsoever to impose your view of patriotism on me, nor have you any right to condemn me for identifying myself as I see fit.

Sadolite, you are talking out of your rear end. I am Puerto Rican. Puerto Rico was invaded by the United States in 1898, and citizenship was imposed on Puerto Ricans in 1917 just before the US went into WWI. Puerto Rico has been a commonwealth of the US since 1952. I am a US citizen by Congressional decree (imposed on all citizens born in Puerto Rico). I have served in the US military. I am not an American, but I am a US citizen. Do Hawaiians, Samoans, Guamanians, Virgin Islanders, etc. have to check their cultures at the door to make you happy? I don't think so. Your lack of respect, identification, and recognition of your Irish ancestry is your own personal problem, and your comment has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. Afro-Latino is an ethnicity, not a nationality, citizenship, or race. You can claim to be as American as you want, but that makes you no more privy to the rights afforded by the Constitution of the United States, which I have defended wholeheartedly and voluntarily, as have many non-Americans, some who are not even citizens.

"I am an Afro-Latino." My heritage is from Ireland but I don't consider myself in the slightest bit Irish I've never been there and don't know a damn thing about it's culture. I am an American and only an American. This prefix before being American is a bunch of bull crap. You are an American or you aren't and you just live here. America is for Americans I don't care where your ancestors came from. If you are going to live here, leave the culture you left behind where it is. If you get home sick go back and visit it and when you are done come back and be American.

"Please note, it's only a reliance on reverse racism advantaging you that could likely be a motive for the inclusion of the second sentence :)."
-This is one of the most ignorant statements I've read from you. I mentioned this because I am of a minority within minorities, and I have experienced racism from everybody. I also pointed out that regardless of the racism I have faced I have not been held back.

"It is not defined solely in terms of negative actions."
-Not to you, but then, you've never had the opportunity to experience real racism to know the difference.

"Depends on whether they are businessmen. If so, yes they can!"
-It is sick and completely ignorant of you to equate the "trials" of businessmen with the systematic oppression, slavery, and dehumanization of an entire race.

I don't expect you to act intelligent, RR, I know you are ignorant as all hell- especially when you make statements like this, but I would expect you to have a little more common sense than what you have shown... I guess you can't expect much from anybody these days, especially when the extent of their intelligence is measured in verbosity.
