Baseball catchers should not be allowed to block home plate when a runner is coming in to score. High risk of injury to the catcher as well to the runner.

I accept and will go into more detail in the rounds to come.

An MLB baseball catcher makes an average salary of 2 million dollars. With all that money team provides them they should be expected to give up their body and stop a run from crossing the plate. In 2012 the Baltimore Oriels won around 40 games with a one run difference. And made the playoffs by 3 games. Buster Posey an MLB catcher for the San Fransisco Giants blocked the plate in 2011 and broke his leg it was bad, the very next year he won the MVP award in is league and never looked back. Baseball is one of oldest sports in the United States and hasn't changed much since than don't change America's pass time with trying to protect a millionaire.

blocking the plate is a common strategy that can be highly effective to getting the out at home. the runner already has a better advantage if the catcher blocks the plate it evens out the odds and besides the catcher knows the risk and if he smart enough to do it correctly there shouldn't be any injuries

Zaradi, not true at all. Catchers block the plate without the ball all the time, like Buster Posey, and get away with it without any kind of objection from the umpires. During the season, I usually watch about 125 games, give or take, and in at least 30% of them, you hear the commentators bitching about it.

I don't think it needs definitions. We can assume it's ball in hand since no catcher would in their right mind would be in front of the runner without the ball. When I played baseball I was a catcher, so I would know. Moreover, without the ball I think it's classified as interference.

Also, it's pretty clear what he's talking about when he says blocking the plate it's when he has ball in hand and the runner is coming in hard from third and there's gonna be a collision where the runner tries to knock the ball loose.

Ill take it if it's still open in a few days.

This is so fvucking unclear lol. If they are nnot allowed to block home plate then the runner can just walk through. You need to redo this with definitions.
