In America or all over the world we love to be told what to do. We are sheep pretty much. In the book and movie 'The Wave' we learn that it is so simple to get brainwashed it has even happened in the last decade in America. With Bush he told us that there was weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, he told the UN (United Nations), and we all believed it and it wasn't true. Everyone wants people to make a decision for them. The hardest thing for people to do is to decide for themselves.

Okay, I have also read the book The Wave and to be honest I think your mixing fiction with the real world a bit too much but I understand your train of thought.
First, the bush accusation.
Yes, no one is going to say Bush was a great and amazing president. No one is going to say he left the US in a better state. But the Iraq war was not just about weapons that he convinced to the UN was there. It was also about the hideous things the government of Iraq let happen. They were ruled by a dictator that had no care for human rights which is a thing the UN stand for and what people are meant to stand for. As a civilised country the US is it should want to spears democracy to another country in compassion and that it's the moral right thing to do. Yes, Bush may of said there was weapons of mass destruction there and these weren't there but that shouldn't and isn't the sole reason the UN let this happen.
The sole reason was not brainwashing or convincing the UN for Bush's own uses it was for the rights of humans and that's why people followed the war and why a lot of people say that war even though it may not of prevented weapons it saved people from a cruel dictator.
Bush did not brain wash the UN only pointed out that Iraq should be helped.

Also, I am curious to know the Hitler part of this...

This debate is useless. Nobody is for brainwashing. Nobody actively brainwashes. Where does persuading start and brainwashing end? What do you want to debate? This seems more like a statement of common sense.

I pretty much agree with you. People will be lining up at the soup kitchen and all heck will break lose the moment the financial system actually collapses. I believe it will be far worse then 2009, and what has been done to prevent that economic crisis has actually only temporarily postponed it. I can honestly see people lining up in droves for the Government to feed them. All of this Government reliance has made most Americans sheep prepared for the slaughter. Socialists know how to manipulate the population and the number one thing they do is give them free stuff. When people accept free things from the Government they are essentially forfeiting their rights. Look at the stipulations of welfare, the Government owns you. It is just too bad that people fail to see this, or like you said they desire to be led to slaughter.
